i just keep thinking it's gonna break out into this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BQlfnKZtBs
it's got to be an influence for sure!
& i don't think we are judging the album by any means, just the purpose of this track for the opening single to tie in with the album release _________________

I’m sorry but everyone is wrong for judging Rock Dust Light Star so harshly. It’s basically the only song heard so far I’m looking forward to in HQ. |
I am a huge fan of RDLS and can't wait to hear it on the 20th. WKR has grown on me, it's a tad too cold for me.
Don't know but in WKR and BS I hear so many frustrations and well that doesn't exactly bright up my day. I understand an artist using his music to get his frustrations out and I am not one who only likes happy songs. But again for me it comes down to the promotional strategy and me not understanding it at all. Why two of the same messaged songs after another? It's almost as if Mercury is pointing a finger and laughing at Sony with it... and that being their main focus in this promotion... |

I accept the other members – namely Toby and Stuart were the musical brains of the operation even though Jay is captain of the ship telling everyone the direction he wants to go in. They formed the classic sound and once they disappeared one by one the music became strained and off kilter.
I love Jay’s voice enough not to care if the majority of his albums these days lack quality consistency because the songs that work for me – Star Child, Seven Days, Love Blind, Radio, Runaway make it a bit easier to stay around for the man who sung Space Cowboy and Alright. |

I guess this song work very well. Is not great but still is good. The both singles are completly different so I guess we can hope for something very good. _________________ "Love is the answer, at least for most of the questions in my heart". |

In any disc, we may find songs that we don't like. This is one of them. I think RDLS will have 2 or 3 "not JMQ" songs. But, we still will be able to listen funky music. Not the best disc the band had ever done, but still, good songs will come up. Blue Skies is dead for me. I'll wait for the whole disc, with better tracks than this, I'm sure. |

Having heard BS once, my initial gut reaction is similar to this. I was so, so excited to hear it at long last, but was left with an anticlimactic feeling. It's certainly a PRETTY song, and Jay's voice is in fine form, but it just did not "grab" me in any way - which is RARE for a Jamiroquai song. Not only does it lack funk (not to say that they are obligated to be funky ALL the time, but they do it SO well)... but it lacks a "groove" as well. I put it in the same category as KFAD off Synkronized and WTHW off Dynamite... uncharacteristically "blah" and just not for me. Maybe, hopefully, it will grow on me and I will grow to love it. (It has happened before with other artists and songs.) If not, there are bound to be other songs on RDLS that do it for me. _________________ ~~~"To perchance upon this circumstance is something of a miracle so spiritual, it's verging on the physical."~~~ |

There's still 9 tracks to be uncovered... Wich i feel a mix of fear and curiosity, even more after listening to these 3 "nice" examples. Seems Jay's being much more Egoistic this time _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

this topic does not mean anything it makes no sense you're falling on your head
Jamiroquai is the best you don't like this song ok that's all
Honestly, get over yourselves. This is an amazing song. What's wrong with a guy writing what's in his head. Probably a lot more than what any of you haters have ever done. Stop living in the past and try and appreciate what this guy has gone through over the last 20 years to give you his all. Open your ears.
If you don't like the direction, Pick up an instrument, find some people who like similar music and make your own band. Make your own funky music and quit complaining
Do you like Half the man?? Picture of my life?? this is like that guys!?, do you really think that the track is really crap?? You dont know what actual crap is!. And agree a 100% with winged angel! this are singles, what means that this are the most massive or comercial songs in the album! i am tired of saying this but, have faith in the band that never let you down before, and WAIT FOR THE GOD DAMN ALBUM!!!! _________________ Nice 2003 , Golf Juan Les Pins 2005 , Nimes 2010 , Nyon 2010 , Monaco 2010 , second Monaco 2010 , Tienen 2010 , AVO Session Basel 2010 . You are right i want happy song too!!!
I find it odd that Universal unveils three sounds before the first single. At this rate we will have the album before its release. The only thing that worries me about this album is that it is sad that the songs it contains only talk about sad feelings felt. I would have liked to hear the sounds as canned or little heat or little l
But I find this song very nice and moving I just hope the album will not be so but already 3 songs on two different and sentimental
I think you will be surprised in the right direction
It is a bit like jay kay opened his heart and that Universal had left the right to be free in his compositions and how the music he loves is not his own album?? after all the good songs that has given us can we not give him the right to speak to us to open his heart to break free and write what he feels free at last _________________ Nice 2003 , Golf Juan Les Pins 2005 , Nimes 2010 , Nyon 2010 , Monaco 2010 , second Monaco 2010 , Tienen 2010 , AVO Session Basel 2010 . after listening like 30 times , i am still dissapointed but kinda like one part of the song i mean since 2:35 .
but you know what ? i dunno why this song LIVE is gonna sound amazing . i just got the feeling .
I LOVE WHITE KNUCKLE RIDE , I like RDLS , and well BLUE SKIES ws a terrible dissapoinment , but it can be improved LIVE .
I Repeat , it is a nice song but not to be launched as the first single . only a good video can improve this .
btw , robbie williams has been mentioned too much in this thread . it reminds me something that happened several months ago .

Sorry guys, but or you're just picking on me, or you just don't want to see or simply don't know how Jay deals with things inside the band. And I won't be the one who's going to explain. I'd stick with the first option though. _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

Jay egoistic?
Every great artist shows personal expression. (I think he writes all the lyrics.) The question is how good is it?
It's a good song. Great vocal. It's a f**king ballad. Shouldn't be the first single. But if they come to your town, you'll be screaming when they perform it.
It sounds very personal at this time in his life. I think it's kind of an apology for his past, and a promise to be positive in the future. (He kinda has some baggage in a couple of relationships). Karma.
It's kinda like we're so hungry, and yet only fed a couple pieces of corn.
We aren't satisfied yet! |
