Jay kay to go karting!
Hello Jamirotalkers!
Check what I found out there:
| Quote: |
SINGER Jay Kay is seeking permission to construct a go-karting track on his Princes Risborough estate even though the track's already built.
Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay, 34, of Horsenden Manor in Horsenden Lane, applied for planning permission to Wycombe District Council at the end of August for an "engineering operation to estate earth bunds".
A spokesman for Wycombe District Council said: "This is a retrospective application meaning the applicant has already completed the work but has since been advised to apply for planning permission."
Earth bunds are mounds of earth often used to make recreational go-karting ramps.
The bunds are in the grounds of the motor-mad singer's luxury estate home to his famous collection of expensive cars. However, the star's recent six-month driving ban enforced after he was caught speeding near his Scottish hideaway means he is currently unable to drive these cars.
Fortunately, if the singer receives planning permission, he can at least continue to drive his go-karts.
Derek Halpin, owner of Premier Karting in Woodley near Reading, explained: "Whether they have a driving licence or not, anyone over the age of 16 can drive a go-kart."
Jay Kay's recent driving ban followed a 100-mile-an-hour drive in a "4x4" but, as Mr Halpin explained, very few karts can reach this speed. |

JK Carting!!!!
Hello,
Thanks for that newsitem Diego . I think we all remember seeing a bit of a "Carting JK" in the recent Fifth Gear video, JK really tear the track up, couldn't he??? You know what, this news reminds me alot of the Nintendo game "Super Mario Cart", where all the famous Mario characters raced each other in Go-carts. You think they would ever come out with a video game with all the Jamiroquai bandmembers, past & present, racing each other in Go-Carts?!? I think thought would RULE!!! Oh well, that's just one of my sick "video game/Jamiroquai" themed dreams I guess . Thanks for listening & Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
One of my all time favorite video games!!!!! _________________

Throw in Toby, Nick, and Stuart as unlockable drivers. Have Jay take out everyone with the triple green shells, then Derrick gets the Star and runs him over.
MarioKart....such a wonderful game. I loved it when I was in my N64 days. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

Jay Kay a race cowboy
JAY KAY has broken his driving ban – but don’t worry, there’s no need to call the Old Bill.
I can reveal the JAMIROQUAI frontman was so desperate to get back behind the wheel that he has spent £100,000 on a go-karting track in his back garden.
The singer, who was banned for six months for doing 105mph, has had the track built in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire mansion.
A friend said: “Driving is like a drug for Jay — and this is the only way he can legally get around his ban.
“The track is brilliant. It’s really professional, complete with ramps, a pit lane, crash barriers and a couple of nifty go-karts.
“He has already tried it out. He’s like a kid with a new toy. He was devastated when he was caught speeding and was nearly in tears at the thought of his fleet of supercars gathering dust for the rest of the year.”
But Jay, who has earned millions from albums such as Return Of The Space Cowboy, has stumbled across a problem — he forgot to apply for planning permission.
He has had to apply to Wycombe District Council for permission to keep the track.
Hopefully they will give him the green light — or officials will have one very angry Jay on their hands.

Yes, he was so desperate 8 days ago that he bought instant go-kart track!
Why instant? Because it stands on your backyard in only one week after you've ordered it!
Oh Please |
