To Ririka, (and all people off course! )
I suggest you to read theses novels to enter in his "universe" (I put the original titles!)
-"Norway no mori",
-"Dansu, dansu, dansu",
-"Kokkyô no minami, taiyô no nishi,
You can directly go to his two best novels which are:
"Umibe no Kafuka"and "Neijimaki-dori kuronikuru".
If you like the David Lynch's atmosphere you'll love it!
He strikes again in 2009 with 1Q84 in Japan but it's not available in France

Thank you Ririka!
Don't be afraid "Umibe no Kafuka"and "Neijimaki-dori kuronikuru" are not as weird as Lost Highway (Have you seen Mulholland drive?) and you'll understand easily where the narrator would go!
Actualy, I've known that later, Haruki Murakami is a BIG fan of Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive.
But these two novels mixed some of fantastic atmophere unlike the others.
I hope that 1Q84 will be released soon here!
Cheers! JD _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

@ Meike, Food Revolution sounds like my kind of read. I don't get through enough books. Right now I'm into Richard Hittlemans' Guide to Yoga Meditation (the inner source of strength, security and personal peace) which is a companion to Richard Hittleman's 28 day yoga program. I am trying to establish a more disciplined practice.
and another good book so far is "Confessions of a Medical Heretic" by Robert S. Mendelsohn, MD. So far, this man has exposed so-called modern medicine's religion on everybody. Everything from prescriptions, to chemotherapy are intended for profit and filling the pockets of involved parties. The author declares that the current healthcare system is not about health. I've just started to read, and can't wait to read the chapter called The Devil's Priests. |
