The hell are you talking about ? Jay Kay has always loved fast cars and all that jazz, he never hid that fact. Didn't he buy a mercedes or a BMW after their first album ?
I'm pretty sure the guy is always giving a ton of money to associations as Green peace etc... Yet here you are trying to judge someone you don't know behind your little keyboard
IMO that's pretty hilarious, Jamiroquai doesn't have to play the same music over and over and over again, and they dont have to sing about the same thing over and over again. What's the point ? Where's the challenge ? If I don't like a track from them, then I'll say it. But how is he selling out with this track ? If I turn on the radio, it's clearly not the kind of music that I hear. So he's selling out to who ? |

Hi everybody!
I just wanted to share my thoughts about the new stuff… Yes, it’s really different, and to be honest, it’s not what I was expecting from the guys, but please wait before saying “Jamiroquai is dead”, or “the new album sucks”, or that “Rob’s got to leave the band”… Here’s my opinion:
- Rob does what Jay wants him to do. Jay is the leader of the band and he decides what he wants to do. I had the opportunity to see Dotfunk (Derrick, Rob, Paul & Dan Pearce) last year & it was funky as hell! Please respect those guys… They deserve it!
- Please don’t judge the album when you’ve only listened to 30% of it… There are 9 other tracks to come, and live shows too! For now, I must admit that “Blue Skies” & “I’ve Been Hurtin’” isn’t my cup of tea, and I was disappointed by the cover art & the videos but wait & see.
- After 18 years in the business & 6 albums, they probably want to explore different musical directions: I’m a huge fan of David Bowie (cf. my pseudo!), & this guy explored different style (glam-rock, pop-rock, soul, electro…) with more or less success, but he’s still a legend: compare “Aladdin Sane” with “Outside” & you’ll know what I mean. Everybody criticized the Stones when they released “Miss You” ‘cause it didn’t sound like the Stones, but this track is now part of the music history. I’m not comparing Jamiroquai to those brit artists, but think about it. As it had already been said they can’t release a new version of “Emergency On Planet Earth” every 2 years. It’d be too easy! .

i think they make it fuller as usual, just like 'Radio' which i really liked

i loved it¡¡¡
let's face it all, this album, by far, looks to be the most rock from ever that this band has made, just look at this track¡¡¡¡
surprise to find how jay sounds, and the bass, the guitar, sounds too much rock for any¡¡¡¡¡
so, i am sure with that rock sound some would not believe it, but is a matter of time we'll see this album will have a rock feeling on it
and i like 3 of 4-haven't listed blue skies yet-new tracks, that's a goal for me¡¡¡
for the ones who haven't listen
get ready to some rock and hard stuff, because looks like jamiroquai haven't made this in YEARS¡¡¡¡
i bet he sing this song after some party or something, because his voice looks really...like after he has been doing alot of suff, and he still have enough voice to sing something rock 
in that way, reminds me the track called''el salmon'' from andres calamaro
calamaro sings just with the enough voice he have, so sounds very hangover song

Just had the time to listen again... 
Some things I really like:
- Jay's suffering voice! He really sounds hurt!!
- the simplicity of the song in the first half! I started to appreciate this only after a few listenings!
- the whispering voices starting at 2.35!!
- from 3.00 it really gets started for me!! Cannot sit still now!!
- and then the climax starting at 3.30!! Great drums from Derrick and bumping bass from Paul!!
- through the whole song, the different guitar elements! I like how they tickle sometimes the left ear, and sometimes the right ear!! Headphones are a MUST!!!
