J’s use of the word: bitch
Did it shock you the first time you heard J say it? I never heard him utter the word until “Soul Education” and even now I don’t fully fill comfortable with it. It sounds awkwardly inappropriate. The word reappears in “Love Blind.”

Haha, I was more shocked the first time I actually sat and listened to the entire track for Just Another Story. I was like, "Whoa!! Jay just said f*ck!!" It totally caught me off guard...But then I saw interviews with him later and yeah, every other word out of his mouth is "f*ck" Very Happy

JAS was shocking as well. However he was the angst ridden stickup kid. That’s exactly what he'd say. J does have a potty mouth but it comes from a bad temper and a naturally rebellious nature.

I think it's surprising he doesn't use more profanity considering his interviews! But that is probably the professional side of his music.

Bitch isn't really a bad word, depends how you use it. But F*ck is!

Can't stand the hip-hop musicians with their profanity or oversexual connotations. Although I do have some. Embarassed

Don't really care about profanity, if it's used with a purpose.

J’s initial inspirations are 60s and 70s Soul, Funk and R&B music. I know there’s not much profanity to be heard in those genres. Bitch is a hostile sounding word to me. J seems too sweet on women to use it so lightly in his music. The use of the word Fuck in JAS is fine. He’s reenacting his past.

It’s usually unnecessary under most circumstances.

Just Another Story about his younger days.
"Nobody make a f*cking move" Isn't really that bad in the lyrics as a whole.

This song is exactly an example of how JMQ shows a contrast. The jazz and grooves is so sophisticated while the lyrics so rough! Probably Avant-garde which paved their way and made them innovative.

I watched an episode where Mythbusters ran a similar experiment and got the same results.
