An INCREDIBLE show. It was the first time than I saw them live with trumpets, saxophones and flutes...just like in the old school days! The band sounded great and the playlist was amazing:
From EOPE:
When You Gonna Learn (My favourite, BY FAAAR. I was back in 1993 with this tune, even though there was no didjeridoo)
If I Like It (What else could I ask for???)
Revolution 1993 (Almost the entire version, that was so cool!)
From TROTSC:
(mmm...I wanted to saw them playing Space Cowboy, but...it didn´t happen)
From TWM:
Virtual Insanity (Really good, just like in Synkronized tour)
Alright (A classic)
Cosmic Girl (A classic #2)
High Times (Every part was amazing, but the bridges were a bit strange to me...)
From S:
Canned Heat (Strong and groovy)
Black Capricorn Day (Like Virtual Insanity, I was back in the Synkronized Tour with this version. Hey! Hey! tata ra taraaaa!!!.......Hey! Hey! tata ra taraaaa!!!)
From D:
(I was surprised that they even didnt play songs like Dynamite or Seven Days)
From RDLS:
Blue Skies (Another great moment in the night. It was kind of spiritual experience to listen to this song live. I love this tune)
White Knuckle Ride (I think that this is the new future classic)
Rock Dust #1 (It was good but...)
Rock Dust #2 (...was even better!)
Most of the hole show // Saw them playing old school songs // The saxophone, the trumpets, the flutes...// Blue Skies!!!
I couldnt find Julia // Fuck the VIP sector!!!!!!!!!! I hate those guys wearing expensive clothes, drinking a lot and not paying attention to the band. HEY YOU, CHIC GUY, JAMIROQUAI IS PLAYING RIGHT NOW JUST A FEW METERS FROM YOU!!! // I´m not saying this because I´m from Argentina, but I found that most of the people in the crowd was a bit cold during the show (specially the VIP sector) |

Rock Dust Light Star - Version 2
Jay Kay said something like:
"hmmm... Ok, let's try something new here...We're gonna play Rock Dust Light Star again but in a different way"
They chatted between themselves and came up with this new version with a Brazilian rhythm... _________________ Fernando Freire |

There were 18.000 people there anxiously waiting for Jamiroquai.
Me myself, as a long-time fan, was surprised by all this hype envolving the band at this festival.
JK and the crew were are all demonstrating a lot of excitement to be back to Brazil.
The "old-school fans" would be glad for the setlist as they played 3 songs from EOPE and none from Dynamite:
1. Revolution 1993
2. High Times
3. If I Like It, I Do It
4. Virtual Insanity
5. Rock Dust Light Star
6. Little L
7. Alright
8. White Knuckle Ride
9. Black Capricorn Day
10. When You Gonna Learn
11. Cosmic Girl
12. Blue skies
13. Love Foolosophy
14. Rock Dust Light Star (second version)
15. Canned Heat
16. Deeper underground
Personally, i think that they have to improve "White Knuckle Ride" live. It's exactly the same case as it happened with "Feels Just Like It Should" which they couldn't manage to reproduce it live by later on made proper arranges.
There is a hole at the chorus of this songs which lackes Jay's doubled voice of "Yeaaaahh, gonna make it better...". So they have to fullfil this space.
Despite that, the song had a great response from the public.
Also, I don't know why they insist to close the gig with "Deeper Underground" as it doesn't have a good/happy feel to it as should be a gig's ending. Besides this song ain't that sucessfull here.
"When You Gonna Learn" and "Virtual Insanity" sound suberb!!!
The crowd was happy!
Jay Kay threw his snickers to the crowd at the end of the gig. _________________ Fernando Freire |

WKR chorus was kinda disappointing, expected more power from it!
DU is the best song ever to end a show!!! I was tired, thirsty, almost voiceless, but when the floor and my chest started to vibrate with the first notes of DU, it just gave me power to sing in full voice.
I didn't like DU, but after hearing the bootlegs and specially after the 2006 show, things changed!
(Best show ending ever: DU from Pori 2003)
I don't have words to express how happy I am right now. The show was fantastic, what a band... so cool, so nice!
Guly, can't agree more to you. A lot of playboys on Premium, but a lot of fans too, specially close to the stage (like me!). _________________ "Sit, back, kick that switch and hyper zoom!" |
