here i am!
i am listening to the (second) samples of the new album, and almost dying! thanks all for the great work!
well, well ... i have to make a review of last saturday ... it's almost impossible, because everything were really perfect and I'm not joking! it was a dream to me i was surrounded by lovely people, friends with some other cities of Brazil, it was a very nice meeting!
so, here it go!
before we went to the concert -
the brazilian Jamily, you can see in this picture the 'Jana B' and also 'olympus' with a red shirt:)
the place - chacara do jockey - was very beautiful, and the festival was very well-organized. our only complaint was the large amount of mud! all we are left with very dirty shoes.
we arrived at around 9pm, when the guys from snow patrol were on stage. then had the presentation of Bajofondo, but I could not wait for jamiroquai.
finally, the band took the stage with revolution 1993! and then ...
they were REALLY amazing! I would not change anything in the setlist, there were four songs from RDLS: two versions of RDLS, blue skies and white knuckle ride (this song is amazing live, i have to say!).
i made this video of 2nd version of rdls, i really dig it!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SH8yQzpuHI
but nothing compared to the moment that i heard the intro to 'when you gonna learn? ". I felt tears in my eyes!
at the end, when we thought that the dream is over ... i tried to meet the guys.
already at the backstage, i saw derrick at the dress room. and then i heard a voice shouting: "julia !!!!"
and guess who called me? ROB HARRIS!
yes, he RECOGNIZED me from facebook! it was a wonderful feeling! i never imagined that one of them could remember me. i am very proud!
he was next to the sola, and told him 'i was an old fan of the band! "
we talked a lot, despite i was very very nervous! i remember i told him "dont worry about the fans!", and rob and sola answered something like "we are here only for the music!".
matt is a very nice guy, as paul and derrick. moreover, paul was carrying a huge box of beer in his hands, and he told me 'i am not an alcoholic, ok?!'
me, rob, matt and sola:
me and mr paul:
unfornately, jay had gone, but it would be unfair to feel sad! i saw his dress room and it was so messy!
finally ... we back home watching a special jamiroquai dvd and that unforgettable evening is over!
P.S.: unfortunately i did not meet guly! _________________

Oh Julia what a great review! You are so lucky to meet the,. obviously Jay's the main star and always escapes.
My first (and for now only) Jamiroquai concert was definitely one of the highest times of my life! _________________ 'White gets two and black gets five...years!' - EONPLE. |

Cosmic et al,
It was just fantastic... Julia's a lucky girl!! Felt very very happy that she made it to the backstage... she was even happier after the show than before (she couldn't shut her mouth, ).
Unfortunately, due to this stupid premium ticket, lots of true fans like Julia were farther from the band than some rich people that didn't care about that much. But, there were real fans on premium area, like me, a friend and some other nice people I met there.
A new friend managed to meet the band when they were leaving hotel, and they were very nice to her.
Watching the videos, I can recall that I didn't like the DU version, that much. I'm addicted to Pori's version, so I'm definetely biased on this.
The great surprise for all of us was Virtual Insanity. We were all kinda "bite me, this can't be real"!!
WYGL was one of the best of the show!! The crowd, Jay and the marvelous trio all singing different things and everything coming out great! That was AWESOME! Can't remeber hearing something like this on any bootleg! _________________ "Sit, back, kick that switch and hyper zoom!" |

Excellent footage, but it kinda loses a bit of the magic of being in the crowd! _________________ "Sit, back, kick that switch and hyper zoom!" |
