Frontman Jay Kay said this week: “I can't wait to get back out on the road and tour, particularly round the UK where we haven't toured for a while. We’re looking forward to playing stuff from the new album, as well as giving you new twists on plenty of the old hits.”
Skitting between a hook laden chorus replete with honky tonk piano, and a lilting verse featuring 70’s style funk horns and lilting strings, ‘Lifeline’ (released 23rd January, Mercury Music Group) is the second single taken from the Top 10 album, Rock Dust Light Star, and a track that’s bound to become a firm live favourite during next year’s arena tour.
With a seventh hit album under their belts and adding to their 25 million plus albums sold to date, plus a shelf full of awards, including five MTV gongs, an Ivor Novello and a Grammy Jamiroquai, are a band on fire (as witnessed by those who saw their Hyde Park Show with Stevie Wonder this summer). Their first tour in 5 years is sure to be a must see for fans old and new.

Wow, talk of a second single already. Did BS or WKR ever get a physical release... or have CD/12" singles completely died out? _________________

Release date for WKR 12" keeps getting pushed back further and further, it's now 1st Jan. _________________ May the wind always be at your back, and the sun upon your face...

Yep, just checked HMV earlier on today and saw that it's now listed for a release on Jan 1st 2011.
No need to be David Copperfield to guess this 12" will likely never see the light of day
But it's very strange and surprising that Universal went "far enough" in the release process (once stores take pre-orders, it's because the store has itself been able to order copies) before backing out... and they don't even back out, since it's still "on hold".
Even though they also said Blue Skies would be released, they dropped the idea (wise of them!) before taking orders and stuff... |
