The people who think JMQ's music and Jay's dancing are only for gays, just don't understand the feeling of funk and soul-music.
They would probably say the dancers in Soul-Train , the songs of James Brown,.. are gay too.

So I think people who say this probably can't dance at all themselves, have no rythm in their bodies, and just don't feel the funk like we do Smile

I just feel sorry for those people, actually Smile

Okay, so I don't think Jamiroquai represent gay music.

Here is an example of "gay" music. Xanadu - 20+ years later.
This was enthusiastically posted today on Facebook from my gay friend Laughing Laughing

It's probably because the dynamite album has lots of gay themes to it. Loveblind, Radio, etc. That's my guess.

Ha ha this thread is so funny...Javis making a fuss about it and all...

IMHO I don't think Jamiroquai is a band that gay people would use as a banner...nor most of their songs...

I admit dancing like Jay Kay in the middle of the club wouldn't particularly make you a female-favorite...but that doesn't mean his dance moves are gay.

Yesterday I listened to a song from Calle 13 (a Puerto Rican band, who is quite famous in Latin America).. the song is called "Gringo Latin Funk" and a verse says "she's a moron, she has a brain of an ox, that's why I dedicate to her this funk, kind of gay, like Jamiroquai"

It pissed me off Confused

You're right! At party's I always dance "funky" (it's automatic, I can't controll it Smile, it's what happens when you listen to JMQ too much ), and afterwards the girls always ask me how can do all those groovy moves. So it does get you some attention Cool .

And I've experienced guys who tell me it's gay, are usually the guys who can't dance themselves.

Absolutely agree!
Any guy who can dance, has the advantage on the girls.
I can tell you!

Hahaha the animation shows exactly how Dutch men dance in clubs with house music!

article quote
'Aspiring disco kings could do a lot to improve their chances by taking up yoga or Pilates to increase their core body strength, or attending salsa classes.'

I'm trying to imagine what that would look like! Wink
