[2012] The 20th Anniversary Of Jamiroquai Planning Thread!
Hello,
It is still incredible for me to fathom, and I'm sure for the rest of the Jamily ranging from 'seasoned' to 'oldie' to 'armchair' fans, that we're less than 1 year out from the 20th Anniversary of the formation of Jamiroquai ( And it kind of 'extra special' for me personally for 2012 will also mark my 10th year on JamiroTalk.net !) . So upon some initial pondering on this important occasion, wondering what we fans and the Online Jamily should do to mark this milestone. With an event of this magnitude, we should at least start 'throwing around some brainstorming' on what we can do to celebrate, from 'giveaways' to 'parties' to what-have-you, be it in reality, locally where we all reside OR in the online aspect . So I leave the thread up to all of you, let's put on our 'buffalo-horned thinking caps' and start working, if I come up with any good-yet-fringing-on-hairbrained-ideas, I will be sure to share them here and elsewhere . Cheers!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

we need to get our fanphotos printed on a model -helicopter and fly it into his bedroom...
oh god lots of silly ideas in my head..
..I don´t know really what could be impressing maybe doing something actually at a concert (which would also honour the whole band and not just jay kay.) ...like thousands of fans singing happy birthday or...saying something....but I don´t know if there even would be any concerts on that time and how even if, that would be realizeable.
and then again how could the international fans contribute ...
anyway let´s keep brainstorming! _________________ "Here it is...there is no way to make it better " |

Jamiroquai should do something like Mark Ronson did with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Electric Proms in 2007. They played awesome versions of their tracks with that live orchestra at the Nobel Prize event, so they can celebrate 20 years that big! A big hall, special guests, u kno..
They should also invite the old members to play their respective songs! I've seen so many other bands invite founder members to celebrate X years of their band! I've seen Zender say he would like to do it again, and Katz, so that's it!
Well, this is my first post since 2008, so, i'm back!

And of course it must be recorded in a double CD/DVD. Los Amigos Invisibles did that three years ago when celebrating their 15 years! A 3-pack CD/DVD and it was awesome! And having 3-4 songs per era, you could have like 25+/- songs in total! You know, switching members to let the actual line-up playing the last part of concert (the best for the end right)...
Those are some ideas i've seen other bands done and Jamiroquai is not that little like Mark Ronson (who's been working almost 8 years) or Los Amigos Invisibles (A Latin American band). Jamiroquai is international and they could do better!
They could ask fans which songs would like to hear and make contests on jamiroquai.com and this forum, a nice booklet with the history of the band, never seen pictures of every era, trivia and something like that! I think that would be a huge way to celebrate 20 years, their first live album, IN BIG!!
Hope you like it! Its just i saw Brent's topic and I've been thinking this thing for years...! So those were some ideas I wanted to share!
Keep it groovin' |
