JAS instru + DYNA a capella
Yes, it took me a MAD trick to make the jump. But without the trick, there'd be nothing to jump over in the first place. Last night, I was listening to my MP3 player in bed. I slightly tugged the earphone jack plug, and the sound was all distorted and crap (the 'phones were okay, tho). After school, I thought of it as a really weird trick, so I messed with the plug again, and got the very same distortion! Exclamation Not just that, but I was listening to JAS, which, after the distort occured, LOST ITS VOCAL LINE (not really, but the vocals became more silent that in Bullet!)!! Something similar happened with Dynamite, which became an A capella of itself!!

I was lucky enough to find a few cables here and there and combine the "last night" trick with another one also related to stagecraft. That setup enabled me to distort the tracks while they were in transfer, turning them into the (very awesome) result I mentioned above!

Please PM me for the download link!

hehehe. interesting experiments.

i guess you can get those effects using computer programs better than messing the earphones and player but i also guess is more fun! Laughing

some time ago martinmcfly sent to me some songs "instrumentalized", and JAS was one of them. you NEED to hear that! Wink

(i will upload and put a link here)

i won't call acapella to that edit of dynamite but i always think is interesting to hear such things because you always got something new from the original song you didn't noticed.

in opossition, JAS intrumental is it!! i'm listening now 8still at the beggining) and i tihnk is amazing! Very Happy

here's the link from martins version (i didn't ask for permission but i'm sure he will share it)

I think the methods Martin and I used are very similar, because I can hear a very "watery" distortion at times, which only corresponds to contact loss (slight distance) between the jack and the plug. The horns sound "fatter" than on the album, too, just like on my instru edit.

BTW, Inaki, checked your inbox? I really need that song.

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Confused Very right, Brother Knjaz, I hear also a liquidlike distortion in these instrumentals too, but it still after all is a good pair attempts at making these songs some proper instrumentals Confused . Wink Thanks again for the good tries, they are still some good listening there Wink! Cheers!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

hi,
of course you can share this, jamirokaki Wink still not "my" work. the rights are still by jamiroquai.

what I did was eliminate the frequencys of the human voice. everything that is close to the human voice gets eliminated too.
so it would NOT work on jays voice in 20-0-1 or any other song with voice effects. (disortion, reverb, autotune...)

the kids' bass has a frequency close to the human voice, that's why it's not hearable anymore.
