TWM rocks!!!!!!! wow...
what do you all think of White Knuckle ride???..it´s one of my favourite tracks but for some reason Jay can´t sing the song properly seriously..all the other songs are fine..but WKR sounds out of pitch too much...why????? |
True, Travelling was the best, amazing. And I just noticed that about WKR... maybe it's because it was the last song, and he had made a big effort with the previous ones, I don't know really, but you're right. Btw, I really like the new outro.

Wooha, that's awesome but I am thankful I am not in the middle of that!
Or like Sandra accurately said: friendly Jamiroquai hooligans |
hehe, well, to tell you the truth, Argentinian crowds are not just filled with good vibes, not everyone there was friendly, most of the time, unless you are right in the front at the fence (first row), it gets annoying as hell (and I was just at 1 or 2 meters from the fence), because the guys that arrive late to the gig start pushing everyboy at front trying to get to the first rows, I really wanted to hit one guy in the f*cking head, but that's not a proper thing to do at a cool concert like this one , but really, it makes you wanna scream "Just enjoy the f*cking show god dammit!!" (in fact I did shout that to some idiots next to me).
So, yeah, there is a lot of myth about Argentinian crowds, we might be crazy and groovy, but sadly, we may be of the most disrespectful (to each other, not the bands) crowds in the world sometimes... |

Well I am not a big fan of human beings so I'll just say 'humans are humans wherever you go'. At least they pay respect to the band, here in Belgium people are very stiff and it's hard to get the crowd going.
Tomorrow I will be attending a Queens of the Stone Age gig. They are doing a tour in very small venues to celebrate the re-issue of their first album. Apparently people have been going nuts at these small gigs so I am bracing myself for tomorrow. I often wanna hit people who are being d*cks. At the Bercy gig it was insanely hot and hard to breath, yet people were smoking... I am a smoker myself but I could not breath because of them and also wanted to punch _________________ *Meow* |

well, nice to know that, I mean, I'm speaking about the only crowd I know, the Argentinian one, since I've never been to a concert in any other country.

hehe, be careful with "Song for the Dead", that was one of the most violent moments I spend in a gig |

Amazing night
Today I started to realised what a night we had on Friday. When I came early to work, the bus stopped at GEBA's door and I couldn't avoid to cry.
On Friday, I took the day off work (my boss already knew Jamiroquai is one of the most important things in my life) and I stayed at home, having breakfast and lunch, relaxing and listening music. At 1.30pm I went to the bus stop and 1.45am I was already in the queue. Just half a block away from the first in line, I sat in the sidewalk to wait.
At 4pm, they let us enter the venue: I got a spot in the first row!!! I was so excited!! I phoned my boyfriend, my mum and friends to let them know.
We had a long waiting, but suporter band "Tony 70" made it really easy to cope.
At exactly 9.15 pm, lights went out and the crowd started to roar. Jay, colourful as always, gave us his first greeting of the night. As an answer, we gave ourselves completely for the next two hours.
The band sounded perfectly, I believe is 'cos the effort of having so many rehearsal hours.
About the setlist, I agree with Jarvis: I'd have loved to hear more from RDLS (only 3 songs)
The bee's knees?: When Jay came down the stage to shake hands with us.
The best song: Travelling without moving, without a doubt. I still believe Sola's hands are always ON FIRE! And Paul left his fingerprints at GEBA!
A special mention for Rob: I had him in front of me the entire gig and I still remember his face. He was trully amazed but at the same time, he looked professional and gave all his best.
Jay voice was really good, except in WKR. He danced ALL GIG LONG. He seemed to be very happy and told us one of the best thing I heard: we're in the top 5 audiences in the world. That's a real gift for me, a fan since I listened to that 90 minutes cassette in 1994. That's why, I hope they come back soon, so we can continue showing them why we're Top Five

Thanks for the record and all the Links.
Just an opinion but this TWM version isn't the best one of the 2011 tour
I prefer this (Birmingham) http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=eljmAiz1a6A |

What can I say about Friday night. Everything that is said about it,
nobody else can experience it. Legendary falls short to describe that
moment, those glorious 120 minutes, even glorious sounds incorrect for describing those two hours where my life was confined to my little spot there among the crowd. I was sorrounded by fans, and not fans, people dancing, people singing, I dont even remember their faces, i was in another dimension, in a very subtle diferent reality. Jay and the band delivered an awesome performance, they gave us great versions of old songs, and a couple of new (yes I was wating for "all good in the hood" or "Hey Floyd" but who can complain?). Jay is an increidible performer, he dances, he sings spot on (and he really sings not like other performers), and he makes me dance as I never dance. Careless, totally oblivious of the people surrounding me and, in some point, I feel that he is singing to me. So, was he out of pitch in WKR?? yeah he might have been, but I beleive that he was so amazed of the love and heart that his people gave to him, that I think for the first time in his carreer ( and I dont think that this is exaggerated) he was astonished. We took his breath away. I mean, guys you are all fans like me, you saw thousands of Jamiroquai gigs, all over the world, have you ever seen Jay, come down from the stage and connect with his fans the way he did??. Maybe I am wrong, but i think this crowd touched his soul a little bit.
Now what about the guys??, as always they are a perfect mechanism, they all gave an incredible, out of this world performance. Rob face-melting solos, Sola with his hands on fire, Derrick proving that he actually is "Indestructible", Matt giving that perfect keyboards, the girls giving spice to the songs, and the horns, my God the horns, what would it be of this band without them. Definetly not the same sound. And no, I am not forgetting about Paul. Paul Turner gave THE performance, he has a groove, so unique, so perfect, that he allready won an important place in Jamiroquai history. Did you listen to "Space Cowboy", that snaping in TWM?? (definetly the high point of the night) , the new "Little L"?, the bridge between "Little L" and "Canned Heat"? the fabulous, bodyshaking, hypnotising "Main Vein"? (I always loved that track) I thought his fingers were going to fall after that. Thanks Paul, just thanks.
Of course people, notice that this is an utterly subjective point of view of what happened on friday night, any similarity to reality is plain and simple coincidence.... _________________ Sounds Kind Of Funky!!
