Gil-Scott Heron passes at age 62
Hello,
First off, I realize my presence here has been rather scarce, but life, work and other bands have kept me away from Talk for an extended amount of time . But I do still pop my head in daily to keep tabs on how the Jamily is doing, so I do apologize for not being here as much as I would like too. Sad news to report though, Gil-Scott Heron, 1970s spoken word artist and legend has passed away today at the age 62 . His musical influence, has touched nearly every genre, and weighed alot of the musical development of Jamiroquai. His genius will be greatly missed, and if you haven't gotten into his music, give his albums 1971's 'pieces of a man', 1972's 'free will' & 1976's 'it's your world' a spin when you can....he will be greatly missed. Cheers Jamily...
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

I know what you mean.
RIP, GSH. Thank you for inspiring me, my favorite band, and many great musicians and poets.
On that note, does anyone have a full version of JMQ performing "The Bottle"? I've seen snippets on YT, and it sounds DOPE (all 7 seconds of it) but I would LOVE to have it in its completion! Anyone? Anyone? _________________ ~~~"To perchance upon this circumstance is something of a miracle so spiritual, it's verging on the physical."~~~ |
