Tips on driving on the left
Hello fellow Jamily,

as some may know, in a bit more than a week my queen and I will be off to England to visit MsP. We'll make the journey by car and ferry.
This summer I'll celebrate the 15th anniverary of having a valid driving license for cars weighing less than 3,5 metric tons. So I'm an experienced driver so far, but I've never had to drive constantly on the left side of the road.
Does anyone have any hints how to get used to drive the British way in a continental car quickly?

Cool

... be careful. And If you have to drive across a traffic circle, remember you will have to make it in the other way!!! hehehe

Yes watch out for roundabouts & they are to keep traffic flowing so don't stop dead at them unless you have to. Look before you approach it Wink

Don't worry,Ophone,I am English but learnt to drive in Switzerland so it was weird the first time I drove in England. You do have priority when you are on the roundabout and most people respect that. Over here the Swiss haven't quite got use to roundabouts so we need eyes in the back of our heads! I always feel better in my own car in England ,it s a question of habit. It's ok after the first half hour! Good luck and have a great journey.Pippa 5car horror

Thank you for your tips!

I drove on the left legally today for the first time and right away about 200 miles.
It's quite weird to see the opposite traffic passing on your right!

But it was quite a funny experience and I can't wait to drive again on the left for the rest of this week.

Thanks to MsP's friend Jo for the guidance!

I survived the left side traffic and I'm back to right side traffic mode! Wink

Think British. Wink
I have no idea, I've never driven in England nor Jamaica, but you'll be on the right side of the car too, so that will be something to wrap your brain around. I didn't know you were going. Give her a hug from me. (and give yourself a hug too.) Wink (By continental car
you mean...?)
