Berlin Reunited: And It Feels So Good (Funk Fiction Mix)
Hey Jamily,
I recently finished a track I worked on tirelessly for almost a week. My friend's band, Modern American Theatre recently released an 7-track EP and followed up with a remix project having each track remixed by 7 individuals. I was approached to remix their song, Berlin Reunited: And It Feels So Good.
Of course, a lot of Jamiroquai influence in this track/remix. I'd love any feedback you all have to offer as I poured a lot of detail into it. Also hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Hey Funk !... Hope you´re doin fine.
Overall: Very nice lounge/cosmic club track, in my modest opinion can compete head to head with most of the tracks we listen at lounge clubs. I especially liked your choice of synths and keyboard sounds, the Rhodes chords, and the way you deal with the singer voice, like when she sings “it ain´t no promise” .. Also, the bass line that kicks in at 1:02 is very cool, reminds me of deep house Jamiroquai mixes, I like the cosmic feel of it. I would only decrease a bit the hardness of the beat, you know, make the “thump thump thump” a bit softer, and attribute the bass line more volume ….. (but that´s only my opinion .. I am a perfectionist annoying freak never satisfied with anything).
But again, very nice track.
Cheers ! … _________________ Away from soliloquies of sadness

Poderfunk, I'm glad you like it! The direct link to the mp3 is right below the stream on the blog post (at the bottom)!
Thanks Vintage, I appreciate your ear for the deliberate instrumentation I chose. Also thanks for the kind words. It's funny, someone else told me the kick drum isn't loud enough! So I guess if you're telling me it's too loud.. maybe it's a good balance. I did want it to be thumpy/clubby, though. Either way, glad you like it and thanks for listening!
Let me know if you can't find the link Poderfunk and looking forward to your thoughts Funkalero! _________________ www.funkfiction.com |

Sorry for not answering before, but I don´t really have much to say about the track only that is superb (maybe the kick clips/overdrives a little but I don´t care much).
You rock man!!!!
I wish I could make tracks like this one. |
