ripped and ready for download kiddies, sorry for not converting it to mpg, had a long night at the 'old ball & chain', I hope y'all understand....enjoy...btw in regards to those ridiculously high prices for aussie concert tickets, what a blatant cashgrab, why Jamiroquai, why do you continue to let this happen just to line the pockets of your trousers?..I understand you gotta make a living but geez...anyway, enough of my rambling, here is the download linkie:

P.S. that JK comment about being the only 'straight guy' on the concert line-up is absolutely priceless, btw Liam, don't forget to take a good reliable digital camera to the gig too, we jamily will need an awesome capture of this gig, have a great time mate .... _________________

The only camera I'll have on me is my iPhone I took a camera to the last Jami gig in Sydney and I found myself focusing more on what I was recording rather than enjoying the concert. I still had a great time but it would've been a whole lot better without a camera in my hand and worrying about it!
But anyway, 3 days to go! So so so excited... my ticket arrived the other day, it's a massive lanyard that I "must wear at all times"

I love interviews where Jay is laughing and you can see he's in a good mood. He can be very funny. |

It is a crock, I agree, but I would assume the artists are completely oblivious to the finance side of the event (save the fee they would have negotiated), which I think is entirely down to their management and one of the local promoters out here, Andrew McManus, who is a snake and a massive douchebag. The other promoter is Sydney Resolutions Pty Ltd, the live events arm of Universal Music in Australia (and there's the business connection to Jamiroquai being part of this event)...
Just like the "logistical problems" and soundcheck issue from earlier in the year, I really doubt the band has much control over these things whatsoever - there's so much stuff that goes on behind the scenes we never see or hear of, and at the end of the day, they're musicians, not accountants. I'm sure all they want to have to do is turn up and put on a good gig. It's just a shame that when things do go wrong, the band members themselves cop all the flack from the punters. _________________

| Semi-good news for those that can't make it, the entire event will be broadcast on Main Event (pay-per-view) for $24.95. |
Here's the rundown they've posted for the TV broadcast:
| Main Event TV wrote: |
FREE LIVE PRE-SHOW! - MAIN EVENT Ch 518, from 7:30pm AEDT available to all subscribers
Join Charlotte Dawson and Mike Hammond, live from the venue, for a sneak peak of the concert including behind the scenes footage, interviews with artists and highlights of earlier acts.
8-9pm - LIVE Pet Shop Boys
9pm - LIVE fireworks
9:20pm - Highlights of earlier acts;
Guy Sebastian, Pet Shop Boys, Psuedo Echo, Lyndsey Ollard and the first half hour of Jamiroquai
11pm - LIVE Jamiroquai
12pm - LIVE fireworks
12:20 - LIVE Culture Club
1:45 - Finish
*Due to artist's requests and time constraints, MAIN EVENT may not be able to broadcast each artist's entire set. |
So I guess that means the TV broadcast will cut out half an hour from Jamiroquai's scheduled two hour set so they can show highlights of the earlier acts...
Hey Liam, do you have Foxtel? How many hours can you record with iQ and is the only way to make a recording from it via analogue component outputs from the box? _________________

I do have Foxtel yeah... I'm not aware of any limitation for how long it can record for. I'll give it a go. |

Yeah sweet. I don't have Foxtel but just did some nosing about and found out that Main Event stuff lasts on your system for 48 hours unwatched and you have 24 hours from first watch until it deletes itself. They're such tightarses with their stuff...
So the concert is only ever going to be broadcast once and you get repeat viewings for a day afterwards. Hopefully someone somewhere is able to get a copy somehow before it self-destructs... :/
From what I understand, the tricky bit is getting a copy off iQ onto some type of media where it won't destroy itself after a day. That's why people seem to use the component output plugs from the box and use a PVR that accepts an analogue signal to record and bypass the DRM. _________________

I was quite prepared to wear the cost involved with 3 airfares and tickets to see the gig, but my 13 year old and 15 year old daughters cant attend. So, i guess we will pay the $25 to see it on pay tv. Will save us thousands but it could have been a once in a lifetime opportunity. |

Yeah shame that it is 18+
Couple of pics from soundcheck (with confirmation of horns!) and interview with Jay (courtesy of the Sydney Resolution Facebook page). I don't think I've ever been this excited before
