buffaloman_R Hello again, buffaloman_R

Got up bright and early and made the jont to my local indie record store and picked up my RDLS Vinyl/CD Bundle. I just took pictures of everything in it, though I hate to say it, no bonus tracks were on either the CD/Vinyl... Crying or Very sad . I was hoping they would have attached 'Smile' or one of the other bonus deluxe edition tracks as a 'hidden track', I guess even Universal Music couldn't get that right either. Anyway, I not completely disappointed, it's a solid release but some kind of bonus would really have made up for the elongated long wait for an American release. Here is a link to my photo album on my Facebook with my picture captures of this new Jamiroquai release...enjoy! :

Is it really worth buying it? I am on the fence...

Well, I bought simply because it's the first new Jamiroquai release in the states in nearly...uhhh...*does the mental math and gets a slight headache*....6-7 years. Plus I had to show 'fan solidarity' and support Jami here in the states, even if it's not what I had imagined RDLS would look like promoted in the states (I'll be honest, compared to the 'Sony style' of past Jamiroquai releases, this is incredibly low par, even for a 1st Jami release on Universal Music!). But if you are short on money, just wait to snag the CD release this coming Tuesday OR on digital pay download...for me, the vinyl/CD bundle is more collector's item due to the low amounts that were manufactured. But hopefully with the next album cycle, which should start for Jamiroquai by at least next year, Universal Music will get better footing and promote the next album with a little more forethought/execution...that's all we can hope. Cheers!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Correct me if I am wrong, but you think Jamiroquai is going to make another album in a year or so?

Also I think I will go out and buy the bundle at my local store with hopes that the sale could bring them to tour here next winter!

Conrad

I would think Jamiroquai is due, by at least 2013/2014, for a new album cycle, simply based that since 'Dynamite', they have averaged between 3-4 years between new album writing/recording/release. Before 'Dynamite', they averaged between 2-3 years simply cause their musical output was more plentiful mostly due to the band not changing members so much. Granted, EOPE-TWOM was their most 'creative period' for their music, but we should at least see a new single sometime in the next year, either they debut it on tour OR just record it, it's still up in the air how many albums Jamiroquai is committed to in their new Universal Music Record Contract (I would beg to guess maybe a 3 record deal, both parties wanting to be on the 'safe side', I.E. if something bad happens along the life of the contract and requires a quick and painless removal from the deal). But in regards to the CD/Vinyl Bundle of RDLS, I will give it them, they mastered really well onto the Double Vinyl, very very crisp, either it being my reaction on having not listened to alot of vinyl in the recent years OR it's just damn mastered like a boss...hehe. As for those whom want to purchase this combo online, I'll be honest, I think it's only available in the indie stores as part of Record Store Day BUT I'm sure you can find some put up on Ebay cause that's where most of these special releases find their way, rather unfair practice but hey people need money. I have found one combo pack on Ebay, upwards of $90, here's a link to the sales listing for those whom have alot of money and are interested:

Now, just throwing this out there, but, if they surprise us with a bonus/hidden track on the CD release this coming Tuesday I will be incredibly delighted, I also plan on buying this release too...(If Target get the darn thing!). To those whom got this combo bundle, enjoy it and Cheers!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

it doesn't have to be about averaging or guessing.

We heard they recorded a lot of music for the RDLS sessions.
So maybe "Smile" is just one of those songs.
Either way, hope they get it together to make new stuff and add to the ones ready for one more album! Very Happy

I went to a local music store on record store day and had no luck finding RDLS Sad ...i will probably buy it online

I do wanna show my support for the band but there is nothing special about buying RDLS (except vinyl) since its just 12 tracks and most of us already bought it overseas in 2010...like other fans suggested, they could of added a bonus track. I just hope non-fans or casual fans buy the album and help contribute to sales (even if its not successful as europe).

Now RDLS is officially release today, i hope there are more news to come on promoting and touring Wink

Laughing Who is paying an extra $10 for the download, if they are already receiving the vinyl and physical cd?

But hey, I'll pay an extra $20 for Jamiroquai to come and download it into my I-tunes, again.

I bought my copy over at ebay.com, total $38,99 with delivery to sweden.
Some independent record store seems to be selling on ebay and that looks like the only chance to get it over sea.

I like the US album cover. Sad it took two years for a official release in my country.

Yep, that's Universal Music for ya, such a great consistent timely record company.....of course I'm being purposely facetious there for my own amusement.. Laughing . Enjoy your RDLS album Brother Jamarcus...Cheers!

buffaloman_R Hello again, buffaloman_R

Just a quick note, it appears there was a bonus track with the ITunes edition american digital release of 'Rock Dust Light Star'. But, as usual, nothing to really be excited about, just the Alan Braxe Remix Radio Edit of 'White Knuckle Ride'. Find it ironic that they put this edit as the bonus track when the Australian ITunes release of RDLS had the 'demo' of 'White Knuckle Ride' as their bonus track. Oh well, just thought you all would like to know, cheers!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
