Probably the Didgeridoo was switched off.... ....ok, bad attempt at a yiddaki joke there... . Anyway, in regards to TWOM, yeah, you could say that it does sound a bit less 'powerful', instrumentally speaking, but each of TWOM's songs were as lyrically strong and instrumentally grandoise as the two previous albums, though they were looking 'for the party' rather than 'looking to stir up a revolution'. But based off the top notch 'remastering' from back in 2006 with 'High Times', I'm very enthralled to hear these, not to mention we might actually FINALLY be able to make out all those lovely 'secret sounds' that made listening to early Jamiroquai material so much better (EXAMPLE: the practically distant and muted JK vocal track in the B-Side Instrumental, "Bullet"). BTW, I didn't think it still existed, but check this out, I actually found my OLD online petition I had composed back in 2006 asking Sony to remaster the first 2 Jamiroquai albums, here's a link to the petition for those whom want to see it..cheers!

They are remastering TWM. I also hear what you're talking about. The overall volume of the entire volume is low as compared to some other albums. Hopefully, remastering these albums will be done with more care than simply raising the master volume though. |

Sweet deal. I like the bonus material they included for the most part. I hope the remastering is done the right way. Bring it on!! |

Hmmm....
Why did they not released the entire live with each album ? (Full Gastonbury 1993, Full Paradiso 1994 and full Phoenix 97 ???) most of the bonus tracks are available for ages !
I hope a good remastering anyway ! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

Hi there,
Glad to see these are finally coming out, even though the tracklist is indeed not very exciting for us hardcore fans...
Regarding the content, precisely, I read an interesting point of view on a French forum... These reissues are made by Sony, and not "directly" Jamiroquai.
I don't know much about the business, but it seems Sony only owns rights on what they already published. Unreleased material belongs to the band. We know how JK feels about Sony, so I guess he wouldn't just give away exclusive material (and if he'd be willing to sell stuff to Sony, maybe Sony wouldn't want to spend much cash on songs that would only influence a bunch of really hardcore fans that already own everything).
Unreleased material might also raise issues regarding royalties settlement between Sony, JK and ex-members (Stu, Toby, Wallis, etc.). Maybe it would be much hassle and expenditure for Sony. They're just making a "special" reissue that will help sell extra copies of the album at full price (and not in the cheap "Nice price" bin) with material that has already been amortized long ago.
The Glastonbury tracks don't fit in with my ideas above, so I could just be wrong or, somehow, Sony owns this as well...
Cheers ! |

Was the Glastonbury gig one of those BBC "In Concert" recordings? I've got the feeling it was already published somewhere...
The other day I asked Rob on Twitter if he or any of the other guys were involved in making these remasters and to his knowledge they weren't.
It's a bit of a shame... We all know what can happen when someone unrelated tries to 'improve' an artists original. Lol.

its nice that they are remastering tracks and adding some goodies in there but for me personally, i wouldn't want to get that unless i wanted to add it to a collection
i am assuming sony would make more profit out of this than jamiroquai (whether it is successful or not in sales)
besides from that, it would be a cool idea if a full-length behind the scenes documentary of the band was released...like they did with the lifeline video and clips shown on youtube...that would be something worth buying or at least sharing with others |

Yep, it's one of the BBC concerts. Now, is it linked to Sony, I have no clue ! |

Hello again,
Well the Official Site has updated with a newsitem about these impending reissues, you can see it here at the following link:
http://www.jamiroquai.com/news;news/10409/20-years-of-Jamiroquai
Just as a little release note I forgot to point out initially, these will be released on March 8th in Ireland and March 11th in the rest of the UK. They also noted that pre-orders for these are now being taken at the Amazon UK site (.. though they TOTALLY have the tracklisting for each WRONG.. ), here are the individual sales listings for each one, they are being priced 12.73 pounds each, for those whom want to import these, that's about $22-23 a piece, but under 'import pricing' probably will end up about $30-$35 each:
EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH REISSUE:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emergency-Planet-Earth-Jamiroquai/dp/B00AOHFE4Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358618967&sr=1-3
RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY REISSUE:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Space-Cowboy-Jamiroquai/dp/B00AOHFE50/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358618967&sr=1-2
TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING REISSUE:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Travelling-Without-Moving-Jamiroquai/dp/B00AOHFE4G/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358618967&sr=1-1
I might just spiel the greenback out for EOPE/ROTSC reissues, those for me the 'must buy' due to their recording shortcomings. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
Hope all my fellow JamiroTalkers had a nice weekend, mine the usual mixed bag of insomnia, addictive bags of Doritos and horrible American TV. Anyway, I was pondering about the impending Jami reissues over the weekend and thought something up:
- Much like how Universal finally released 'Rock Dust Light Star' in 2012 in the States, concerning these reissues, since it's in same close proximity of the holiday, maybe they would go ahead and release these on Record Store Day 2013 (April 20th). I mean, the holiday is close to the UK release dates and would give them ample time to produce a good supply of these for a limited exclusive Record Store Day releases in the states.
So maybe, just maybe, Universal could release these on RSD this year, which would really be awesome! Thoughts? Cheers!
Sincerely,

Hello again,
I just noticed something...
The image covers of the three impending Jamiroquai album reissues, pictured on the online press release at the Sony Ireland Site, have the words 'Jamiroquai' in the new lettering font they started using since the release of 'Rock Dust Light Star' album...
Check it out...

..pretty weird but cool at the same time, just thought I would point it out. Cheers!
Sincerely,

Now now, Brother Janluka, I wouldn't count a set of vinyl reissues out of the ballpark, I mean, no of us was expecting RDLS to be released as a double LP Vinyl, especially in the belated US Release. I would think, if they go the 'Record Store Day' route with a US release of these, they could produce 'vinyl/CD bundles' for each one to add more 'bang for our buck'. But it's really all up to Sony and what they have planned, so far, these reissues are WELL DONE! Cheers!
Sincerely,
