Latter half of the Sony Jamiroquai Catalogue, carefully avoiding Universal's Rock Dust Light Star era !
RDLS videos only appear on "Jamiroquai Official YouTube Channel"
Yet another sign pointing at Sony potential come back! |

Hehe, thanks for the optimistic wink Trolll, but it should also be noted there are like 3 official/semi-official Jamiroquai Youtube Channels. The third is 'Jamiroquai : Topic' and has the most expansive collection of Jamiroquai content of all three channels, and recently has been sporatically active with uploading new content, mostly videos of 'remixes/b-sides/mixes' of past Jamiroquai catalogue single/white label releases, ironically from what I gather, it's run by "Sony Music Japan" *reciprocates Trolll's optimistic wink*. For whose who want to check out this third Jamiroquai YouTube Channel, here's a link to it:

there's got to be the Emergency on Planet Earth vibe on the new album, lyrically.
Just look around |

I don't know whether this is '8th Jami album' OR leftover Jami demo/material, but if you don't know what the ASCAP site ( http://www.ascap.com) is, it's a the website for the 'American Society Of Songwriters & Producers" that features a repertory search engine that lists copyright song listings, new and old, for various songwriters/bands. I have searched on this site in the past, in this case, in searching for 'Jamiroquai' I found the usual listings for most of the 'Rock Dust Light Star' songs/material and a couple of the bandmembers compositions they have wrote/recorded outside of the band in collaborations and elsewhere. But this one song from a Jamiroquai Keyboardist "Matt Johnson" search ( https://mobile.ascap.com/aceclient/AceWeb/#ace/writer/423167676/JOHNSON%20MATTHEW) immediately stands out, firstly, it's got all the main 'songwriters/composers' in the band in notations, from JK down to Matt Johnson. For the sake of hindsight, the only other time I remember seeing this song noted was when Jamiroquai did a couple of live covers of the Weldon Irvine song "We Gettin' Down" during the 'Space Cowboy' World Tour in 1994/5. This is unique due to the sheer fact that is has the current Jamiroquai line-up of composing it along with JK, now this could just be a leftover song that never got around to being/finished/what have you, but I thought I would point it out for further discussions/speculations. _________________

Aw, I liked Angeline but yeah...I wouldn't want that on the 8th album. If they wanna put something on the album that we've heard already, at least choose Shoot the Moon or Smile. Maybe even Cannabliss finally but I'm hoping there's less of a rock influence on the new album and more of a jazz, house, and/or latin feel to the new album. I know that sentiment is a broken record at this point though lol.
I do wonder though if any of those songs that have new titles are going to be on the new album or just cutting room floor material from a previous album (RDLS). There's still stuff like Super Highway and Your Window is a Crazy Television or whatever that track is called. Are We Free and By Any Means totally sounds like some EOPE-era stuff! _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it. |

No chance :
1.Angeline was a RDLS Bonus track !
2. Jay works with new material in every album (2 exceptions : The Kids and Deeper Underground)
3. It's a little bit harsh : it's far to be their best track, but it's just an electro-pop track with some sound effect experimentations. _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

"By Any Means" by Jamiroquai is this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbsso4LmfAI
And "Are We Free" is from the album Travelogue from Radio Silence, the band Matt used to have with Rob. |

lol, that is not true. There have been way more tracks that were supposed to be released on certain albums and were recorded in past sessions, but weren't probably due to unknown reasons, possibly due to limitations by the record label and made an appearance in a later album or never made an appearance at all sadly.
EOPE:
Later released songs:"Scam", "Mr. Moon", "Manifest Destiny" and "The Kids".
Known unreleased songs:"Friends", "Natural Energy" "Do That Dance" (Scam demo version), and "Music of the Mind" (vocal version).
ROTSC:
Later released songs:"Bullet", "Drifting Along", "Funktion" and "High Times".
Known unreleased songs:"Space Clav" (vocal version) and "Don't Stop the Feeling"
TWM:
Later released songs:"Getinfunky", "Deeper Underground" and "Wolf in Sheeps Clothing"
Known unreleased songs:"Mr. Boogie", "Our Time is Coming", and "Who the Funk do you Think you Are."
Synkronized:
Later released songs:"So Good to Feel Real" "Everybody's Going to the Moon" and "Titan"
Known unreleased songs:The entire original album which contained at least 10 tracks which titles are unknown, however the most common and known heard track is one we fans dubbed unofficially "Midnight Funk". The album was originally going to be called "Symphonized".
Stuart Zender who was the bass player and main songwriter for Jamiroquai during this time, so he was credited on the entire "Symphonized" album. For conflicting reasons Stuart Zender left the band and Jay and the rest of the guys legally did not have the right to release the tracks Zender played on and wrote.
They instead recorded brand new materials and tracks.
AFO:
Later released songs:"Feels Just Like it Should"
Known unreleased songs:"A Funk Odyssey" and "Cannabliss"
Dynamite:
Later released songs:"Radio", "Runaway", "Angeline" and "Hang it Over"
Known unreleased songs:"Shoot the Moon"
RDLS:
Later released songs:"Smile"
Known unreleased songs:Jay has said more than 20 tracks they recorded during the RDLS sessions have not yet been released or heard. Some known tracks are "Super Highway" and "Your Window is a Crazy Television". _________________

Wow, great summary, thanks!
As far as I know, "Our Time Is Coming" is a Roy Ayers song...or am I wrong? _________________ "If it doesn’t sound good with just a keyboard and a voice or a guitar and a voice, drop it.” /Jay Kay/ |

Mmm no, Smellbob. You got several things wrong.
Don't Stop The Feeling and Our Time is Coming are Roy Ayers covers. Nothing to do with the band.
Deeper Underground was written exclusively for the movie Godzilla. It was later included in some versions of Synkronized. Nothing to do with TWM. Same with Wolf... and Getinfunky. Those are Synkro era.
So Good To Feel Real was done in one take after the recording sessions for A Funk Odyssey and was included as a bonus at the end of Picture of my Life. Nothing to do with Synkronized.
Feels Just Like it Should wasn't recorded during the AFO era. The small sample of Jay humming with a vocoder is, though. They just re-used that to create that song.
Angeline and Hang it Over have nothing to do with Dynamite. Those are RDLS recordings.
Radio and Runaway were done exclusively for the High Times Singles album. |
