After listening to it, I have to recognize it's not THE song, but that's quite difficult having in mind all the past albums they did. Anyways, I like this song more than FJLIS or WKR when they were premiered for previous albums.
More complex song, according to rhythm changes duing th song, different parts in it, that can make it work ok in my opinion.
About the quality of the sound, well, we still have not a high quality audio of it, for now only streamings, so, let's see. In any case, I think it's a much better start than previous albums.
Very electronic, and very Jamiroquai-ish. _________________

A friend of mine asked someone who heard Cloud 9 and he said it is very funky/soul, very Jamiroquaish. I hope is true! |

sorry Javis but this shit is not MUSIC.
I think Jay don't even need the band for this track, it seems an amataeur DJ track made with a software like Ableton and a robot voice.
Respect for Jamiroquai I will continue to move me with their music 1993-2001 |

This will sound funny, but i always said that jay and i are like brothers split in two different countries
The story is, in 2016 ive met a girl i like, but she was so stuck in her cellphone so when i tried to send her a paper saying something, she throw it away.
After that day, ive write a song called analogic love about how all today is more about internet and love is not the same, so analogic is less
After reading the lyrics, all i can say is, maybe jay have been in the same troubles with girls who like to have you in fb more than in real life
SO. besides the fact i need to have a band to sing songs, i am after the same troubles with jay, at least i feel jamiroquai always reflects many of my feelings.
The RDLS era was my time when i start to feel old, and the songs helped to get through less hard. _________________ Only a fool can walk away from me this time

I am sure it is!
Can't wait for the tour now...
I'm Automaton, I'm Automaton... |
I'm at work at the moment and it just came on the radio... I have to say it sounds really good when you're not expecting it and and it comes on amongst all the other songs _________________

Despite not agreeing with TWM era comparisons, I sense we are going to have something in the likes of it. _________________ At the speed of cheeba, you and I go deeper... |

I gotta agree with that. FJLIS felt different too but in a less interesting way. WKR was fine, just not leading single material.
Automaton is stronger in that regard. It assaults your ears, which is something I believe they pretty much wanted after almost seven years without new material. |

Great to see so many familiar names re-appear... have been following the new album progress closely and checking Jamirotalk religiously during the quieter years!
Haven't read through the past couple pages so apologies if some points are repeated.
Really in two minds about Automaton. I feel that this will be a sensational track live, but I really don't think it has legs as a radio single. It heads down the road of a Daft Punk track but veers off a little too left of field for it to be consumed by the masses IMO.
The random robot noises - no doubt they'll make sense in the video clip but I don't think they were necessary in the track itself.
The chorus is nice and feels more "Jamiroquai" than anything else. I also really like where the end heads - it feels like JK becomes more expressive and breaks out of the Automaton rigid mould. Again, live, this would be amazing to hear and would blend into a really funky long jam.
If anything I think the end of the track is promising and perhaps a sign of what we can expect from the album as a whole. |

I think I finally figured out that one line!! He doesn't sing "I see the world in claws of freedom"
I believe he says "I see the world and cry for freedom"
I thought claws of freedom made sense in an ironic way because we aren't truly free when we are enslaved to technology. But it also makes sense to hear Jay say he sees the world in the state it's in and he cries for freedom from it all.
I think it makes sense because in the next two lines, Jay says
These metal eyes, they can't disguise
The fact that I need something to believe in.
and to me, since he is playing an android/alien thing in the song/video, he is saying that despite being this shell of a person, he can't fully hide his emotions. It's like saying even a robot can see how screwed up things have become. _________________ If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it. |

Yes, he said '' in cry of freedom''
Again , the song is very critic to the world we have, and again, many wont get the fact is a politic song, very emotional.
Yes, have that electro sounds, but the whole song is about the world becoming electronic and desensitized, so i don't see why so many feel weird about it...
I can bet the video will be very 2001-a space oddisey like
Because jay is critizicing machines and technology who have power over societies, and that's enough politic in this kind of world we have¡¡¡ _________________ Only a fool can walk away from me this time

You gonna re-edit/re-post your Automaton lyrics here Zeio? I would like to screencap them and post them on r/jamiroquai.. _________________
