The new sound demands an evolution of technique; human/machine relations are on my mind as I adapt to the future of percussive production. How to retain the feel, and groove, as I move seamlessly from congas and skin to technologies of pad, trigger and loop?

It definitely relates to our comments on the new band lineup and the overall sound of the new album.

I'm not sure I've seen this posted already (apologies if it has) but I just saw that both singles (presumably the album?) were mastered by LA Source Mastering in France.

Matt Johnson posted a photo a while ago, pointing the album was being mastered there, yep Smile
It's a 5 min drive from my place (but you're allowed to not care!) Laughing

Me? Oh no further information! Sorry... Wasn't intending to spend the whole day there not even being sure there was anything to see! Smile

On another note, French music stores Fnac are offering pre-sales access to the forthcoming French tour for those who preorder Automaton online.
http://musique.fnac.com/a10363482/Jamiroquai-Automaton-Vinyl-album

"Until Monday 6th March included, pre-order Jamiroquai's new album and get access to pre-sales for the forthcoming shows! Pre-sales will begin on Wed. 8th March. A mail with all indications will be sent on the previous day. Quotas are highly limited, and orders will be limited to two tickets. Pre-sales are within allocated limits. Pre-ordering the album does not guarantee you will be able to purchase tickets during these pre-sales."

So Jami is going to make to O2 shows this years, and every time I think of O2 I always remember a blu-ray of George Michael from a show there.
Guess what, Jami does not have a official blu-ray, so wouldn't that be the perfect place for recording one? I can only dream about it haha

Yes, it would!

I think Montreux was released in blu-ray though:

No, Live In Verona was only released in dvd and Montreux(the only blu-ray) is not quite a Jami official, since it was release by the festival itself and not the band.

From my searches, none have been issued but I expect to see some 'full album' promos hitting music journos this coming week for review consideration. Then in turn, retail sites, like Apple Itunes/Amazon.com/etc., start updating their "Automaton" album sales listings with "30 second audio samples" of all album tracks. So keep your eyes peeled!

They are still issuing 'digital single promos', even on a new record label. But as for 'album promos', these days they are 'streaming promos' of new albums mostly for music reviewers to log into a site to hear.
