Hi 
I'd like to use the animation you see at the bottom as my avatar. The problem is a 8kb size limit rule. I know that its there to make surfing faster, but i do think its a little too harsh. Don't you think so too?

why don't you use it in your signature????
use your face as the avatar, or something still. |

i think she did it using a Gif animator... you can use a smartsaver and make smaller each image... and then you can animate it again, and then compress the gif! then you can see the results...

Yeah i used Microsoft Gif Animator, its free. You just choose a sequence of images and it makes an animation out of them. |

by the way, you can use Ulead SmartSaver... then you can make smaller your images, and then make again the gif..

No problem at all.
Well im using FireWorks, which is virtually the same thing. Its impossible to compress it to under 8kb, and still have a sastifying quality. So i'll just use this image, its great too. 
And sedaquai, if you find a way to use it, feel free to do so. |

I'm using an Apple Mac and have photoshop elements. How can i get an avatar picture reduced to 8k in size. I just cant seen to get the image small enough ?? - Thanks |

well reduce the avatar that you want to the size : 80*80!
Then when you want to save click on : FILE > SAVE FOR WEB!
There you can find the settings to reduce to the 8kb , will reduce the quality of the picture obvius! You can save on *.Gif or *.Jpg

It was saving it as Gif instead of JPEG that made it small enough - Your the man !! |
