89.3 The Current
xxx edited by admin

89.3 the Current is a new radio station in Minneapolis that plays indie rock, with a mix of hip hop, funk, soul, etc. The songs you will listen to on here you will not here in mainstream radio at all. You won't hear Beyonce on this. You won't hear Hoobstank. 9 out of 10 songs on here you've never heard before, but a lot of the music is really good. There will be a mixture of crap in there too, but give it a shot if you're sick of the mainstream crap that is U.S. music these days.

It's run by Minnesota Public Radio, so no Clear Channel, no Infinity, no Disney to cram the streamlined molded mainstream crap down your throat. Here's the link to listen to it online. TO LISTEN ONLINE THERE'S NOTHING EXTRA TO DOWNLOAD, MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS, so give it a try. Peace!

Thanks for the heads up, Jaminneapolis. I'll check it out.

And since you gave us one, I'll give you a station. WHFS, the legendary Washington D.C. rocker that was killed in January for a tropical format (can't blame them, the new station is getting big ratings), has been resurrected online thanks to AOL and Infinity But unlike the past ten years, Infinity has kept their hands off it and have allowed for a much more diverse playlist than the 'ten song and repeat' style that they forced HFS to play while they were still on the air. If you're an AOL member, just get into their music channel and look for WHFS.com.

Enjoy!

Mandy,
Liquid Soul Radio for myself almost seems better than the Current. Thx for the suggestion. I mean the Current I have to sometimes listen to some crappy local and indie rock b4 hearing good rock and good hip hop and neo soul on there. With this one exclusively being soul and hip hop I think at least for myself it could be more consistently better. Thx once again for the suggestion. Peace!
