Jamirotalk has rules which WILL be abided by & we will edit posts if they break those rules. We're not putting the brakes on discussions but on personal attacks which have no place here.

No, by editing we are stopping ATTACKS NOT DEFENCES. They are as opposite as black & white...

Ok, i know i'm one talking like a mad here....
but these are just my opinions! JUST MINE! if you do not agree with them, just shut up and say nothing, there's a lot of people saying that FJLIS is the greatest song in all the world, and i haven't kicked them for that... as so many people here have said to me. That was directly to me from Mers and PietroChocko, i know it is true. but well, i'm not going to leave Jamirotalk cos you're saying it.... i thought about it first... but NO!!

this situation makes me angry... cos i really want to express myself and there's a lot of people here kicking my ass for it... but who cares? anyone else than me... after all, i'll be here defending myself as i can... cos you're not my bosses... the only one is Mouse and she decides what to do and what not...

Bye! Evil or Very Mad Mad

I don't even know what you guys are fighting about. Everybody is in title of his own opinion, and no one should be judged because of that.
I like the song. I do agree that i miss the old sound, but i still like the new song too. And about the rest od the ablum, we will see.

Come on people, it's enough now. The bitching parts were edited, if you still feel to talk about the personal attacks do it like adult persons and clear what you have to clear with people in private. This discussion is about the song. We should go back to the topic and stop fighting.
Don't start it again and again.

The funny thing is that we are discussing/fighting about something we even shouldn't know by now... Laughing

Hello Jamirotalkers,

This all discussion is just because Jamiroquai fans like different kinds of music, that's why everything is so divided. And is interesting too.
But I'll add things from what I said on my pervious post here (haha like 4 pages away!). 'Little L' was too weak to be the first single (in my opinion), but it did good! This one may not be too danceable, but I think along with a great video (that I feel it will be) will be a great opener for this new Jamiroquai era of funk / rock.

Like CosmicBear said, there are lots of different styles of music in every album, and it'll be the same here! For example, I didn't like 'Deeper Underground' that much (except for the lyrics), but I still enjoy it.
And like other user said, if you listen 14 seconds of 'Twenty Zero One', you will say the same you're saying now (including me). And AFO had great songs. So, you can make an opinion about what you hear, but not about what you don't. Like Meike and Funkillo, I was prepared to hear this new sound, although I liked the acid jazz and dance style. At least they are saying from the album title, Dynamite, that the sound is more... explosive? harder?, and that they're not selling something that is different in the inside.

What I don't like is that I feel that with this only 14 seconds JMQ is already losing fans?? The opinion of Serge, for example, I respect it of course!, but I feel sad because JMQ will -perhaps- lose fans. Is not their fault, the original bandmembers are no longer there, so of course the sound will change, cause is not the same people playing (thank God this was a slow change: 1999 left Stu, 2002 Toby, 2003 Nick, and not all at once). Jay can't play any instruments, so what you hear is the creation of the musicians of the band, you can't blame Jay, of course he is not too delighted of having different people around him too, and like us he has to adaptate to that change.

Come on! We are talking like if the song was completely bad! To give you an idea, I didn't like 'Love Foolosophy' at first, but when I saw the video I could imagine the video and it was different. What I'm saying is, that maybe if we listen to it with the whole promotion -covers, interviews, the video- is gonna be different. I know what I'm talking about, cause I'm studying graphic design, and what you see is very important, it influeces a lot. On everything.

To sum up, I think we are (including myself) making quick judgements. All I can say is stop! and don't panic Wink

Oh come now with all the hostility....
buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Confused Oh give me a break, who thought one leaked new song would divide or give fuel to personal attacks Confused . Razz Looks like I'm going to have to weigh in yet again to calm the nerves, my fellow mods have done a pretty good job in trying to fan down the fire of criticism of the single Razz . Now, first off, using your opinion of the new single, be it good or bad, as a means of launching off personal attacks is both wrong & goes against everything that fans stand for. Second, if you don't like it, that's your opinion and we respect it, so don't go flogging the same "dead dog" with repeated sentences of commentary from your previous posts. And third, and most importantly, be respective of other fan's feelings, I mean, yeah, people fight and have disagreements, but try to lessen the use cussing and swearing in trying to modify your point or opinion. If you can follow those provisions, then we will all be better off in this touchy topic. I'll be honest, I have a feeling that all this bent-up hostility was precipitated by the long and audrious wait we fans have had to succumb too. Everyone reacts to releasing that aggravation in many ways, some good and some bad. I'm not saying that any of you are wrong in any way, your human, and it's perfectly normal to react in that way. Wink I hope you understand me and thank you all for sharing your opinions and takes on "FJLIS", just please "play nice"...OK Wink? Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

its a great track, people. Cool Razz
THE TUNE IS PERFECT!!!!!
the vibe is awesome!!!!
Cool

i cant wait to hear it LIVE!!!!!

its great that all albums are so different!

all cool performers did evolution and changed their approach with every LP!
like Roy Ayers, s wonder, m gaye, beatles and stones, and the other cool ones.
Guys its like if we heard sample of TWENTY ZERO ONE (which i love SO MUCH Very Happy )before the whole AFO album. would you also think that the entire album is the same STYLE??? Question

YES its based on a rock/funk riff so what?
why not??
they did some tracks with rock/funk riffs live during EOPE era.
i mean covers.

basically this track is JAY PLUS ROB ideas and sound. and its a great chemical reaction Cool IT HAS A pure VIBE, EMOTION AND FEEL!!

GUYS IF YOU HEARD SHOOT THE MOON which is genious you know they didnt go away from JAZZ!!!!

they JUST have changed arrangement style because the band members are new.

of course TOBY left the band he was the best co writer ever and this is our pain. but theres no second dude like TOBY he was unique
combination together with JAY..
BUT THE MAIN THING IS ABOUT JAY. Very Happy
IT WAS HE WHO INVENTED EVERYTHING WE LOVE
ITS HE WHO'S PRODIGY AND THE MOST GENIOUS
SONGWRITER AND PERFORMER IN THE WORLD!
HE TAUGHT ME FEEL THE MUSIC THE WAY I DO
Cool Very Happy

JAY'S TUNES are the same HQ and UNIQUE; Wink
DERRICK's STYLE IS THE SAME Wink
he is playing HIP HOP RHYTHM PATTERN as he did a lot before. Wink
hey even WHEN YOU GONNA LEARN has HIP HOP RHYTHM PATTERN!!!!
MATTS MOOG IS PUNCHY!!! Very Happy
ROB PLAYS PERFECTLY!!! Very Happy

this particulary track has a more
american, smooth style of sound mixing, but tune is cool!

AND FINALLY I LOVE IT AND ITS 1000% ORIGINAL AND DOESNT REMIND ME OF ANYTHIG ELSE I'VE HEARD!

THANKS JAY!!!! Cool Very Happy

Hey guys, I've been a fan of jamiroquai since ROTSC and own all their albums. I have somewhat unusual music tastes with other favourite bands being the smiths and the pixies. However, there is still a place for Jamiroquai as they offer something that as yet no other band has. I can't describe precisely what it is... that voice, the bass lines, the keyboards, the guitar but it has always been there and instantly recognisable in the music.

However from the sample of FJLIS I can say with great assurance that it is there no longer and it saddens me. I'm obviously not affraid of a move towards a more rocky direction but this track lacks any authentic rock sound. To me it sounds like it could be any old artist performing any old track, coming under the rather bland label of rnb given to the majority of music currently in the charts in the UK.

The voice is terrible.. wot has happened to jays voice that he feels the need for that amount of electronic manipulation. It completely strips it of all uniqueness. Secondly the chorus, which is something that jay is usually sublime at is just simply boring, I have listened to the sample countless times and still can't remember quite how it goes. The only saving grace is the funky guitar riff, I just hope that saves the rest of the track and is not overshadowed by the electronic production.

I don't want Jamiroquai to lose that special something in pursuit of comercial success and I'm just not feeling the new single.

Just needed to get that off my chest...

yes, Jamiroquai will loose loads of fans, but hundreds of 12 years old girls will start to adore his new poppy idol.

By the way, I think 14 seconds is enough to say if the song is good or not.

And PLEASE, don´t compare Deep Underground with this shit.

Hm... somehow I take this personally. Do I have to feel ashamed that I have positive feelings when I hear those 14 seconds? Do I have the same level as a 12 years old teeny girl now? Does it mean I have not the vaguest notion of music because I do NOT say: Jamiroquai has once been good, now they are shitty?

All those negative vibes... they make me feel bad.
I still have faith in Jamiroquai.

There is nothing wrong with this track. You cant judge it like this, there is only 14 seconds of it. You can't expect a band to stay with the same sound throughout 11 years. Give them a break, at least the new material is coming out.
