Hey everyone. This may have been brought up before but check out this link:
http://www.sonymusic.com.sg/jamiroquai.html
It has a write up looking forward to Jam's new album confirming the June 20th release dates and gives some more track names:
Dynamite
Give Hate A Chance
Seven Days in Sunny June
And.......
Black Devil Car!!!!!
I suppose this raises the excitement a bit more.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned!
PS I love the FJLIS Clip!!!! |

What a beautiful site

FIRST NEW ALBUM OVER 3 YEARS TO BE RELEASED ON
JUNE 20th 2005!!
Almost 4 years on from the from the release of their last album, the multi platinum, no 1 ‘Funk Odyssey’ (his best selling UK album since Travelling Without Moving), Jay Kay and his band return with their eagerly anticipated 6th studio album, entitled ‘Dynamite’, and released on June 20th 2005.
‘Dynamite’ –and it is - is set to further enhance Jamiroquai’s reputation as one of the UK’s most successful exports of the last decade and more, with over twenty million worldwide album sales to date. ‘Dynamite’ is also Jamiroquai’s most accomplished and diverse work to date; with new co- producer Mike Spencer at the controls with Kay, it encompasses fantastic song writing and plenty of floor filling classics-in-waiting.
Lead single ‘Feels Just Like It Should’, written by Jay, is released on June 6th and sees Jamiroquai at their harder edged, groove based, funking best, with Jay’s own vocodered vocals providing the fuzz bass line.
Although this track showcases a harder Jamiroquai sound, the album also contains anthemic disco stompers (title track ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Give Hate A Chance’), while moving the sound on with the funk driven rock of ‘Black Devil Car’ and the laid back summer vibes of ‘Seven days In Sunny June’.
Jamiroquai will be announcing plans for UK live dates and a world tour shortly.
"Feels Just Like It Should" will be released on June 6th on SONY BMG. The album, Dynamite, to be released on June 20th. |
I find it very interesting that Sony mentioned new release on their site! I really do.
Thanks mate |

I think TWM sold 7 million worldwide, and Synk sold only 4 million worldwide. AFO, I'm told, broke the 5 million mark. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. (Watches the once mightly Sony/BMG news slug slowly travel to all the dew-covered SonyMusic website leaves)
Hello,
Yep, your right Supersonic, TWOM was the best selling Jamiroquai album of all time in about 7 million units and is still in the Guinness book for best selling Funk Album of all time. Still, I guess it's nice that this release news is slowly irking across all the Sony Music Burbs. But honestly, aren't we all tired of complimenting Sony/BMG when they don't really deserve it? I mean, I must have complimented their lackluster and slow posting of delayed release dates about 4-5 times now, seems a bit a redundant to continue to thank them when they have done nothing but make a folly out of Jamiroquai. Oh well, with my gripes being aside, thanks for that find Dannyev ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

it's been 10 months since we heard that well-polished clip of BDC...they've sure been taking their sweet time.
according to that press release, the bass is FJLIS is Jay's vocodered voice - does anyone with the AFO interludes lying around recognize a similarity? I deleted mine for some reason _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

Hello again,
Yeah Tahoe, some of use have made that assessment about the sample used in the melody of "FJLIS" . The sample used is the "Interlude #2" from the UK Test Pressing of "AFO" from 2001, the one where JK is beatboxing on a vocalizer. Still, as I have mentioned before, I found it amazing how J was able to wrap the whole band sound around that one lowly little vocal sample. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

Second - whats these 'interludes' you are talking about? _________________ Fascist.

If they say Jamiroquai have sold over 20 million albums worldwide, I would think that those number have gone up over the years. In my local HMV, they always stock tons of Jamiroquai, and people grab them up. So I believe an album like TWM is probably over 10 Million by now.
I like what I'm hearing about the album so far, but I want to hear a review by an outside party, rather than the record company. |
