Can someone actually clarify the problems there are with JMQ releasing the scrapped album?

Is it as simple as a legal no no. I mean, we were all denied a whole album of Jamiroquai!! Can it ever be released??

yes, i think so...
with years, we will see new old songs being released.
or perhaps when jamiroquai hav so many years of disbanded, they start to make DVD's and CD with rare stuff, and there are all that rare songs... Razz

Many of you hear probably wouldn't like to hear the real reasons of why Stu left as a lot of it comes down to Jay's selflessness and drug problems at the time and not the reasons printed by the papers back then.

It's highly unlikely that the original Synk will ever see the light of day, but let me tell you something you may not know...

A lot of the tracks on the released Synk are are those of the ones that were going to appear on the original Synk... to avoid copyright issues when Stu left they mearly changed some chords and shifted the keys of the track. Canned Heat was an original Synk track - they just reworked it slightly and replaced Stu's bass part!

You can hear many of Jamiroquai's song ideas and 'borrowed' chord structures on a few albums... check out the albums,

Herbie Hancock - Man Child
Johnny Hammond - Gears/Forever Taurus

You will recognise a lot of Jamiroquai's ideas Wink

True, but in fact JMQ use 9ths sooo much anyway! It's almost their signature!

Thanks for the info btw! So we'll sit tight for the couple of tracks that were never released! Smile

i already knew those clips, were taken from an mtv awards winners show (i have the video clips too) and yes, those samples are so great, and basslines are incredible good.
so apparently that's the only thing people have heard?
someone told me time ago that someone on the net was selling the original full album at a very high price, and i ask myself if it was true.

from Toby's interview:on May 27, 1998 (means Stuart was still in the band):

Now in pre-production in a room adjacent to the yet-unfinished studio, the band has completed twelve tracks for the album, eight of which, according to keyboardist Toby Smith, are "album-worthy."

12 Synkronized tracks with Stuart on bass already in 1998!!!!!!!

that is unbelievable!!!!!
