Madonna's "Die Another Day" (New 007 Theme) Hi everyone! I wonder what you think of Madonna's James Bond Theme "Die Another Day"... Am I the only one to consider it weak, boring and extremely repetitive? Throughout the song, I keep expecting her to burst into the chorus of "Music", since the beat is identical... Very disappointing! I still can't believe that Jamiroquai were put aside in favour of her... They could've recorded a much better theme without a doubt... Swing Out Sister (I don't know if you're familiar with them) were also once approached to record a 007 track, but in the end Gladys Knight was chosen... and recorded a really boring song. I can't really see this new JB song being nominated for an Oscar... By the way, does anyone have any idea as to why the Academy always boycotts the Bond themes? The last nomination was Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only" in the 80's! Personally, I really liked Sheryl Crows's "Tomorrow Never Dies" and Tina Turner's "Goldeneye" (written by Bono Vox and The Edge). Take care! Cesar

I like the 007 theme sung by Shirley Bassett. Ooops, can't remember the name of the song though (was it Goldfinger?). I once heard a very very short part of JK's mother singing and I found that her voice was quite like Shirley Bassets'. _________________ ?Now I've got that sunshine in my life?

Wasn't it "Diamonds are forever"? I love this one. And "Live and let die" from Paul McCartneys Wings (although I must admit that the Guns and Roses Version is much better

Tweak the MJ sound another day.... Hello, :bm_r: Greetings to everyone, sorry for not posting more often, been sick with a nasty cold-slash-flu ...my stuffed head feels as bad as a Jackass Movie ), I enjoyed the movie, great example of complete lunacy! Anyway, as for my opinion of Madonna's stealing of MJ's sound for the "Die Another Day" single, I don't like it that much:(! When I first heard it, Madonna doesn't sound like Madonna, her voice is more altered than Cher's monthly face. And the scattered techno sounds are pretty much a MJ clone, mostly from MJ's albums "Dangerous" & "Invincible". Yes, I agree, it's good to see a James Bond song FINALLY hitting the top of the charts, but I still think it was a bit overexecuted and too overdosed on remixes to buy. as for madonna's new single, i'd like to say i don't really like it! it's too repetitive & it just doesn't do it for me! it's been so over-rated! like two/three weeks ago, people were talking about how gr88 madonna's new single was & when i saw the vid for it, i thought, "ok..eerrrm...what's so good about it?" lol me don't like it! :2no:
