seven days in sunny june should be the single
Between listening to FJLIS, SDISJ, and EM, I believe "Seven Days in Sunny June" should be the first released single on the upcoming album. Why? I think it's the best song of the 3, and it's just as marketable as the FJLIS. I think it's a song that everyone can get into, and I think it fits the style of something that could end up on a Clear Channel Top 40 or variety radio station playlist. Those are the two playlists they need to be on to sell records no mater where. I think SDISJ the strongest of the 3, so they should throw it out there. Also, it's got a good running time for a pop top 40 or variety radio station: 3:30. That's a perfect time. I wanna know what you guys feel would be the best song to release for the first single off "dynamite" among the 3 released so far. Once these other songs come out this week, maybe we'll forget about these 3, but til then, what do you guys think?

As much as I enjoy "Seven Days," let's wait for a few more tracks to surface before we start picking singles. But I agree with you, it can be a very strong top 40 track and stays in the usual timeframe for those types of stations.

i think they played those songs on the radio, just to see the people reactions, for then, choose the new single... i really like seven days in sunny june, in fact, everybody seems to like it, the case is different for electric mistress, cos the relation is 50-50.... some people like it, and some people not....

i want 7 Days in sunny june as the new single... Razz

I don't think it'll make it to single, I reckon that kinda music doesn't sell as much as others (I sad AS MUCH) so there you go, Sony behind everyhting..I wonder if Tony Mottola has something to do? hm..if he is then..go fuck Thalía and stop fucking JAMIROQUAI!

"Motola is evil, racist and devilish" Michael Jackson hope it's not Jay KAy in teh future

lol Mottola and whoever runs Clear Channel. The two evils of the entertainment business.

The fact of the matter is the single has been picked. It is FJLIS, because they've already made a music video for it and announced a widespread radio release date. I do hope that SDISJ is the followup release to FJLIS though, unless we hear something this week that trumps this song (that would actually be really cool, because SDISJ is so good already, so for a song to be even better would be great!).

Hello Jamirotalkers,

My vote should be for 'Electric Mistress'. I can't see a beautiful ballad as the "return of JMQ after 4 years". They have to come with a powerful track. But that is my choice between those songs, cause 'Dynamite' and 'Give Hate A Chance' are better. But is a good thing, cause that means they haven't release the best thing of the album yet. Is better after they know that Jamiroquai is actually back Cool .

'Why do I feel this way?'

I agree. I think "Electric Mistress" has a wider appeal for the fact that it is a straight-up dance tune. The only problem is that it's so much like a lot of other stuff of it's kind that people might not know it was Jamiroquai.

Diego,
I respectfully disagree, and here's why. You're right in the fact that they should probably use a more powerful single to promote the album with, but "Electric Mistress" I don't think quite does it. I don't think it would get much airplay in the U.S. on mainstream radio stations. For the reason that's it's too "dance-ish" I guess. The Clear Channel idiots (let's not let Infinity and Disney/ABC off the hook either) wouldn't consider this song a potential chart topper and would not play it I don't think.

"Seven Days In Sunny June" would make an excellent second single.Think about it....June is just around the corner, and this is the ultimate "summer song".It's a breezy, melodic tune....just perfect for radio stations to embrace this summer.

Yes, you might be right. I don't know how the situation is up there. How much airplay 'FJLIS' had so far? In here, they are playing it a lot actually. There are two radios that constantly put Jamiroquai on air -Aspen Classic and Metro-, and you're not gonna believe this, but on Saturday, there were three JMQ songs -Little L remix, Canned Heat, and Feels Just Like It Should- at the same time in different radios!! Haha. I'm not very good at choosing singles by the way, but I had to with only 3 options in the poll! LOL

'So baby let's get it on'
