Autumn 2005 release for Dynamite in America
Hello Jamirotalkers,
Info from the funkin site:
| Quote: |
| There's been some discussion recently about a possible delay to the release of Dynamite for the American territories. I've been in contact with Sony and Jamiroquai and the official word as of 18 May is that the release date for North and Latin America is currently scheduled for "Autumn 2005". I know no additional information regarding why the release date differs from Europe/Japan/Australia etc. but will post back here or on the news page at Jamiroquai.com if any further information comes to light. |
Don't contact David directly to complain about this information.

I think there's a silver lining in this--why else would Sony delay release if it weren't part of a coordinated promotion campaign (even a tour!)? October is also a big CD-release season, so I don't really buy that argument. I guess after two long years of waiting I can swallow $6 for shipping and a crappy USD-GBP exchange rate _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

Hello,
Yeah, I will also swallow my pride in the same way Tahoe, still I think it was a bit pathetic they wouldn't put out at least a press release or send this important news immediately to their underlings on the Official site, and we have to stoop the obnoxious expensive import prices . Well, you might be right with your assessment too Tahoe, could saving energy and planning a MASSIVE media promotional blitz of America....still I think the new album has ENOUGH MUSICAL power to knock down the flaky music coverage in America. Oh well, I guess I will watch the trees till then....*Looks at tree and sees the leaves aren't halfway through their growth cycle, whispers to self with a dismayed look on his face, "DAMN!"*. Thanks for the news posting Brother Diego, and thanks for listening ! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. Indeed and well put Diego, PLEASE DON'T FLAME DAVID ROWE OVER THIS, he has no control of what Sony or Jamiroquai decide to do. _________________

Looks like it's Amazon for me...I'm not waiting until October. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. I dunno Jamirofan... A flaming David Rowe would be kinda funny. Just kiddin.
Anyway it does suck that the album will be pushed back. Another nugget to add about delaying the release to the fall here in the U.S.: maybe a U.S. tour would start close to the same time or a little later? Getting a little airplay for fjlis and/or sdisj, combo that with N. Dynamite, and all of a sudden you get some casual fan interest over here. I know an arena tour has been rumoured for the late months of this year in Europe, but after that? That means maybe late this year or very erly next year we might finally see the triumphant return!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL DELAY THE ALBUM RELEASE COS THERE ARE SOME "BIG NAME" ALBUMS COMING OUT IN JUNE...

I'm very bummed too! I kinda figured something was going to happen since there wass absolutely no promo here. Well let all the US Jamirofans pray the promo will come full force in the fall, until then I'm ordering the import online. What do you guys think would be the best import to buy? Japan? |

Japan will have the bonus track, but I've seen several sites; the prices on it range from thirty to sixty dollars. The cheapest I've found is the UK version at Amazon.co.uk who has it on pre-order for 8.49 GBP...about sixteen bucks US along with shipping. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. I think the Brit import would give the best bang for your buck - it's $22 with the slower shipping from amazon.co.uk. I planned on digging up the Japanese bonus track online anyway. _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

I don't get this at all.
In America a HUGE time to release albums is October-December...this is when, usually, the HUGE names come out.
So Sony is trying to avoid some 'big names' and release this album when lots of MONSTER albums come out?
What happens next? Delay till January 2006?
Ah...thank you Mr. Import CD. |
