Star blasted for rant at solicitor

THE wife of a Scots solicitor has slated pop star Jay Kay for threatening her husband The Jamiroquai frontman and fast car nut said he wanted to shoot lawyer John Cowan, 60, after he was convicted of speeding.
The singer - known as the Cat in the Hat because of his trademark headgear - blames John, of Dunfermline, for failing to stop him losing his licence after he was caught speeding for the fourth time.
The lawyer, who has suffered two strokes in recent months, said he could not discuss Kay's remarks because of client confidentiality.
But his wife Elizabeth branded the singer's comments 'beneath contempt'. She said: 'You expect that kind of tirade from people who have been unsuccessful in court.'
John represented the pint-sized star when he admitted speeding at 105mph near Perth as he travelled from his holiday home at Gairloch, Wester Ross.
Kay, 34 - real name Jason Kay - was fined £750 and banned for six months. But instead of accepting his punishment the star turned on his lawyer.
He said: 'I lost my licence driving my Mercedes G Wagon in the Scottish Highlands.
'It's shaped like a brick. It only goes 110mph - and that's downhill.
'I think my lawyer was s***. I wish I had taken him outside and f****** shot him in the back of his head.
'He told me if he was the judge, he would have banned me, too. I was paying the f***** a fortune for that.
'The trouble is, I look like a bad boy, but it isn't true. I put my foot down where it is appropriate. I don't go tearing past schools and old people's homes at 120mph.'
Car-mad Kay has lavished a fortune building up a fleet of luxury sportscars.
His collection boasts nine Ferraris, including a £450,000 360 Spider with a top speed of 220mph, and an Enzo model, which he describes as 'my devil car
