Jamiroquai on TV
Hey all.
With 'Dynamite' being released on Monday, there are a few TV performances that I that you might like reminded of:
Friday (today): Top of the Pops. It was JUST on! It was a different performance from the last one, much newer, much better, and Jay was wearing the black spike hat. (the spikes looked really cool, they had something on them ) Hopefully somone recorded it.
Also Friday (tonight): Later with Jools Holland. I know he did a few tracks for this show, but I don't know if they'll all be shown tonight. The BBC website only has the following info:
Back in 1992 Jamiroquai brought the funk and melody back into a stagnant chart. Thirteen years on and 5 albums later Jay K and his band are still producing soulful funky tunes. Four years since the release of A Funk Odyssey, Jamiroquai returns with new offering, Dynamite.
That's on a 11.45 tonight, BBC2 in the UK.
And tomorrow...that all important performance of Starchild, on CD:UK! Catch it 11.30am.
One last thing...did anyone happen to catch the performance/chat (?) on 'Entertainment Today', last Friday? _________________

Hey!
The show's not over yet...but what an amazing performance! Not only have Jamiroquai performed FJLIS on Later...with Jools Holland, but also SDISJ!
Apparently, Jay isn't too well tonight, but he's doing a fantastic job!

I recorded it but jay did sound a little hoarse, audibly not well in fjlis. He had clearly had a drink of whisky or something to pep him up for sdisj which was great to hear live for the first time. Bdc will surely rock more at a proper gig, I thought the production on 'later' was a bit weak for this track. I know it can't sound pro-tooled on tv but it lacked kick compared to coldpay's sound so something must have been awry. Still, tight as toast as the man said
Anyone who can tell me why I keep timing out connecting to the dc++ hub (but can succesfully ping it) gets an mpeg2 of the whole show sent from me |

I think the show made it clear that FJLIS is a hard song to sing, after hearing it against SDISJ! He did a good job though, I liked the buffaloman stage and the way all the bands were in the one room listening and performing. And Jay had good moves (but not as good as the TOTP ones!)! _________________

Hello,
Just watched the show and Jay's voice seems quite bad in FJLIS and SDISJ. I agree that FJLIS is too high for Jay and that's why it's so difficult for him to sing. SDISJ went better, but not too good (Jools Holland said Jay wasn't well this evening). Black Devil Car surprised me in a positive way. I like this live version and Jay's voice was better, especially in the slow 'lullaby' part. So there's hope for the tour.
Paul Turner was behind the backing singers, so I guess we could catch him one or two times, Sola was singing along with the backing singers and the buffaloman on the stage I love!
I have to say that the volume of the backing singers is still too high, I hope this will change in the future. Maybe it'll if Jay's voice is better again.
Jeroen

Hey again!
Well, I watched the rest of Later...with Jools Holland last night and I have to say, the performance of BDC was great...even my mum enjoyed it! It was nice to see The Buffalo Man on the stage too!
I also caught the performance of Starchild on CD:UK when I woke up this morning...what a great way to start the day! That song is simply fantastic, especially when it's performed live (although, in this case...the performance had been recorded).

Who recorded Starchild live at CD:UK? Is it possible to share it on the hub or with Rapidshare? |
