I cant believe so many of you guys don't like Elactric Mistress - this song is excellent. OK so its not in the usual style of Jamiroquai but for me it is still one of the best songs on the album.
I'd say that HTB is the poorest song - but not terrible at all. |

HTB and Electric Mistress are both IMO really, really bad songs. _________________ --"Dance For the Freedom..." |

Hello there,
I believe this discussions have no sense. Of course some people likes some songs, and some people don't like other ones. We don't need to discuss this. Just respect the opinions of everyone and that's it. I can understand why some people don't like certain songs, but the truth is tha the album is very elaborated and it has a lot of work behind.
And I know that with time, some songs will start to like everyone

Well yeh, good point, but that's not what i'm getting at...trying to simply outline that Jamiroquai have lost their personality. _________________ --"Dance For the Freedom..." |

I think it has, diego, just check de dynamite reviews thread and you'll see a nice example of how a "likes-based" discussion can turn into a nice debate between some music experts in which we all can learn sthg

You can do what i do... take it as if it's a completely different band... I mean RATM and Audioslave have only one member of difference but still it's another concept and a different name also... i dont know if it's a good example but since ratm was mentioned before it came to my mind _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

I can't take my favourite Band as a different band though, and if I did I'd hate them. It's funny you should mention RATM and Audioslave because it's exactly the same, both my two favourite bands. _________________ --"Dance For the Freedom..." |

It depends Beto, because it would be a nice debate, only if people who say that hate some tracks (or whole the album) tried to open their minds to other people's oppinions and tried to appreciate what they like about the tracks, but if you go like "that song/album is cr*p and that's it" I don't think the discussion will work. I mean, we all have to be tolerant. It happened to me some months ago, I didn't like EOPE very much, and I thought nothing would change my mind, but then I tried to appreciate what all of you see of the album, and I started liking it much more! I feel really sorry for giving EOPE just 2 stars , I'd give it 4 by now. Well, but the thing is, that we need to be a little more tolerant, we should remember that no one here is right about their thoughts, likes and oppinions, because all of them are subjective things _________________

I think the idea is right, we're sharing our preferences and giving the reasons of our choices, what's wrong with that?
Of course I don't like Electric Mistress too much, it's cheesy electronic music, sounds quite similar to Basement Jaxx. World That He Wants is a great track, but for a soundtrack or something, it doesn't sound very Jami. Hot Tequila Brown might have a personal meaning for Jay, but I don't like it either.
Let's face it. The last albums were not made for Funk or Acid Jazz "gourmets", and maybe the band and the label are looking for new markets. Jamiroquai isn't an indie band, but I think this is not the way of making new fans. _________________

Hi there,
No that's not what I meant... mmm let me see how can I put this... Ermm.. I like good discussions that talk about the album, I think it has no sense saying "I like SDP", and on the next post someone says "how can you say that? SDP is great". And then "Come on, the song is crap"... and then it goes again and again trying to convince the other one how good or how bad is that song. That is the kind of discussions I don't see much importance. Know what I mean?
