Jamiroquai Nominated in 2003 Brits!!!
buffaloman_B Hello everyone, :bm_b:

Just took a gander at the nominations for the 2003 Brits (http://www.brits.co.uk) which air in the UK in mid-Feb. ! Jamiroquai have been nominated in the "Best British Dance Act" category, and are up against the likes of the Sugababes, The Chemical Bros., Groove Armada, and Kosheen. I have a strong feeling Jamiroquai will prevail this year, I listened to the other contenders and they weren't award caliber performances, in my opinion. I still hope JK & Will Young hook up for a duet, it would rock! The Sun newspaper (UK) has a article about the Brits, complete with a picture of JK in polar-bear-mode with the caption, "Jay Kay...Best British Dance Act?", check out the article, the picture and a ticker of the nominations at:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003020596,00.html
Thanks for listening and the usual props to CosmicMouse & Bear! Peace and take care!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

*Insert Will Young Here over Anastacia*

When the heck is Stevie Wonder & JK gonna hook up
for a duet of his hit "Boogie On Reggae Woman?"

And if they finally win the award Jay has no reason to get angry, drink gallons of wodka and to fight somebody 2fight - ok probably he will be drunk when they win too 2drunk I wish it would be shown on German TV - but I don't think so the blues 2no

thanx for the link, jamirofan! i have a feeling jamiroquai will win "Best Dance Act". Reason being, because of the other artists who are in the same catergory as our boys! the other artists are NOT that popular, & haven't really established themselves in the britsh music industry-(1/2 of them!), nor have they released a hit single for the last year/2 years or so!-think that's important, so you can promote your band!). this year could be jamiroquai's turn! 2yes

what baffles what the f*** me is why "the sugababes" have been nominated in the, "best dance act" catergory? their music isn't exactly of that music genre, now is it? it's more pop/r'n'b in it? SORT IT OUTT!!! angry it's a bit irritating, don't ya think?

& just to end this, i don't think jami will be a upset/vexed that they don't win the award (they're used to it, already!) because jami themselvs are conscious of their own talent/value and do not need that kind of award/recognition to prove themselves, to anyone else because they know already their music is appreciated...by their fans (around the world!).

ciao all. 2wave

Yes, you're right that they don't need any award to know how special they are and how their fans love them!!!
But last year - according to the yellow press - Jay was a bit disappointed about not winning an award. But maybe they overdid the whole incident - as alway - I really don't know. Anyway I wish them to win the award this year!!!!

I remember that the last Brit Awards Show was broadcasted live in the internet... but I also remember that I had problems to connect. Confused
But there was a website with a chat room and there they announced immediately the winners.

Maybe I will find more information soon... I'll let you know! ;)

Speak soon,

horror Oh me God!
Jamiroquai for "Best Dance Act" ?????????? 2eye-popping

Evil or Very Mad Why not Jamie Olivier for "Best Hair Cut"?
Or Michael Schumacher for "Best Brother" Evil or Very Mad

The people at the Brits still haven't understood what the music is about, or what? Confused

OK, some will say: Rolling Eyes Any award is better than no award at all.

JK is sure a great mover/dancer/whatever but to nominate the band for this award instead of "Best live act" is a shame. what the f***

Ooooooooooppssssssss Embarassed

It is not "Best dance Act": the category at the Brits' is actually called "Best Dance". I suppose it means"Best dance Music".
I see a difference Wink

Now I understand why Groove Armada and Chemical Brothers are in this category.

AFO hat I just read on Frenchiroquai that "Love Foolosophy" ranked #3 and "Main Vain" #4 among the Top 100 UK Club Chart 2002.
Good prospects for the Brits in this category. clapping

hey ya Meike! how's your bumb? another smile hang in there, babes! Wink i was also on that website, when they announced the winners (they mentioned it, in a chatroom!) but i couldn't hear anything! the blues *sniffle* hopefully, this year my connection will be better, also. :)

& to sunrayvibe, no.3/no.4 is funkin FUNKTASTIC!!!! good on them! clapping clapping & yes, i agree.....our boys should have been nominated for, "best live act"! they truly deserve to be (no doubt about that!). the artists nominated in that catergory are (most of time!) the same predictable british bands!

i don't understand these brits organisers. the way they go about in nominating artists in certain catergories is soooo weird & irritating! angry ggrr.....

ciao, all! lol

Hi J@miroquai!

There was a voting page at the website http://brits.co.uk but you could only vote for a few categories online (Pop Act, British Urban Act, British Breakthrough Act and British Single).
It was not possible to vote for Jamiroquai (nominated for Best British Dance Act). This will be chosen by a jury, I suppose. It is not in our hands... Sad

If you wanna see the page where they annouce the nomineés then go to
http://brits.co.uk and click on NOMINEES and then on BRITISH DANCE ACT.

Cosmic greetings,

Meike

aahhhh
I can't wait for Thursday Smile.

If Jamiroquai do not win this year, I will besiege the Brits website with pointless emails (well, maybe not..but the thought is there).

I was in the Virgin website the other day and looked at their top 500 singles and top 100 British bands - Jamiroquai were not mentioned (unless, I am mistaken - and if anyone can prove me wrong...).

I wish the band all the best of luck and will sit and meditate for at least two hours every night (well, maybe not..but, again, the thought is there).

Next Thursday
Is the date for the British awards?
Oh, sure I wondt see it, simply because I can't.
But if you Janicita can record it for me?
Okey if don't, don't worry at all.
Cross our fingers for Jay Kay Very Happy
