Hello again and again,
Yes, the animated video seems to have gotten better since our eyes FINALLY got to gander at the leftover 2/3 of it we didn't see in the CD:UK clip . And the video really does cover some good "Symbolic" issues in it, the multi-colored characters who are ushered away by the other characters, the soldier characters taking money from higher ups and cause oil fires on purpose and the backstabbing that happens from within. At least, that's what I got from it after watching the whole thing, nevertheless, very good video. And I do agree that the motion capture they did for the JK character didn't really match up it well, think they should have "probed" him up above the groin and get full body movements in my view. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

That video is great, just different, but GREAT !
However, as I like details, can someone enlight me with the message at the end when the beard brown guy is grilled and the white guy is is down with his arm up ?
The rest, I think I got the symbols and metaphors...
It is so great to hear and see Jamiroquai carrying strong messages, with good music!
Thx. _________________ I know that this... is the peripheral side of bliss !

And you can notice is motion capture, those are Jay's movements, not only when he dances, but also when he walks! Is so Jay!

I fully agree. I first thought it was only me, but I don't understand half of the video...
And I don't lake the Jay-character. His nose is to big
After all, in my opinion this is the worst Jamiroquai video till now. _________________

I do now understand the part with the "money" chain... when he's about to kill the "king", he gives him money, and it starts everything again, round and round.
However, the part with the black guys, where is he send to??

Hello again and again,
Hmmm...I thought that part of the video out Brother D, and I think I know what they meant by it. Basically I think it "symbolizes" prejudice and wanting a group of people to send different people, in this case of skin color and other physical differences, back to whence they came. In America's case, white racists wanted African Americans to go back to Africa and never come back, in many other parts of the world, it's the same situation, Yugoslavians wanted Kurds out of Kosovo during the Balkan conflicts and so forth. It is a shame that in this modern world and in a new bright century, that man hasn't evolved to the point where bigotry, prejudice and hate have been forgotten, we are a LONG WAY away from a "Star Trek" future in this case. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

Basically I feel the video sums up a lot of the hatred & prejdice in the world. Just because one group of people are oppressed it doesn't mean in turn that they don't oppress others. The video clearly represents that.
I also feel that although some parts of the video may seem repetitive like with the guns, tanks & bribes etc that also sums up what's happening in the world. All this corruption just goes round & round & round in a never ending cycle... |

I just saw the video...well, although I am a really big fan of the music, this video is pure cheese, sorry to say, although I can see how it can fit in the cheeky european mtv pop countdowns
I realize it's tough to make a "deeper" video when the music is pure happy-ish disco, but they had some success in making visual disco a treat for the eye (e.g. Canned Heat).
The tecnique and concept used for the video is not really innovative, and you can notice clearly the visual reference to Daft Punk's "Around the World" video. The dancing characters and gorillas sadly resemble too much the dancing baby of Ally McBeal.
I hope they will do a higher quality job in future videos. |

I simply adore the video; I think it's great, crazy, wacky... all those things! I couldn't be happier with their choice!

Hi there,
From the first version I miss the changing color background when the Jamiroman (sic) is dancing; and the red penises (sic 2) falling in the black background. For the rest, I like the final version.
