Aww, you're all so good at writing songs. I'm jealous. I would contribute, but my mind just isn't there when I try to compose songs. It's funny, I can write you an 1000 word essay with ease, but I can't write a crummy little song. I'm working on one at the moment, but it's not really jamiroquai-y. If I finish it, I might post it here. Cool

This is my contribution for the 6th Jamiroquai album. Look the repetitons, tipical of Jay. And imagine a rhythm like “Mr. Moon”. It seem like it talks about a girl, yes, but It’s also dedicated to the uk press and music critics (something that Jay hates). So here it is:

JAMIROQUAI
“LISTEN”

Let me know
Let me know why....

I got you in my mind
But don’t expect much soon
You heard me and I tell you again
This time...

I don’t have time for you....
For you
No no no!
I don’t have any
Any time for you
No no no!

Surely be free, to be pleased
To find my sound
And be part of it
Cos got you listening
Listen
Listen
Listen to me
Listen

You listen to me, cos everytime i’ll be here i’ll give you an idea
You don’t mean anything to me, to anyone
Like a motorbike’s ashtray
Like an airplane’s horn
Like a deaf’s ear
You are nothing

So let me be free
Let me feel the souls out there
Listening to me like you don’t
Let me be part of it

Anyway, that’s just how it’s meant to be
That’s just how it’s meant to be

Here, in the end, it might be just like “Funk Odyssey” (because I don’t think is gonna be in the new album and the end of the song is so beautiful that could be, at least, in this song). Ok, goodbye. And tell me what you think.

Can you imagine if any of these songs appear on the next jamiroquai's album? Oh, Wow! It would be so funny and interesting Laughing

Peace of mind! Cool

Good Song
buffaloman_V Hello again, :bm_v:

Great try, thanks for the submission Diego, good job Very Happy! Yeah, that really did remind me of "AFO", but trying to imagine new songs for the 6th album always ends me humming either "AFO", "Cannabliss" or "Shoot the Moon" hehe! Yeah Gonna Dance, it would be pretty cool if our lyrics were used in making actual Jamiroquai songs. I had a idea the other day that everyone who wrote original songs should record them and we could make a fan album of them, but that probably would take a LONG TIME to put together and made....at least I threw the idea out there! If any fans wants to try to record my song "Return Of The Big Brass", I wish you luck, might be impossible to do! Thanks for listening and keep the submissions coming in, I love them all so far Wink! Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

OK. I have to say my last song is horrible (is only made for Jam), so now I have been doing this one. But before you need to know I am from Argentina, and I am still learning english. So my vocabulary is not so big.
Okay. Imagine a funky track mixed with ´Mr Moon´, that at the end it slow down like the middle section in most of live performances by Jamiroquai (yeah those ones who doesn´t appear on the albums). Okay, is definetely better than the other one, so here it is ´CHECK IT OUT´:

Since the moment I met
You know, in the discotheque
I knew you would be mine, you don´t forget
And while I was trying to get
Your attention, you were
Sitting there, dancing funk
Blowing minds, I think you should...

Check it out.....I´m all for you
Check it out.....I feel you through
Check it out.....I´m all for you
Check it now....I think you should...

So now the Earth is preparing
Lakes, mountains and oceans smiling us
And while I´m dreaming I know
My life without you makes no sense
Trying to reach a dream
In which nothing is real
The ground is happy to having us above it
And the sky so blue that with rainbows
Makes us know: is all for you and me
I started an illusion, I cannot believe
This thing is killing me, so I think you should...

Check it out.....I´m all for you
Check it out.....I feel you through
Check it out.....I´m all for you
Check it now....I think you should...

I never felt something like this
And when things that happen make me think
What the world is coming to
The only thing that matters
If for me to be with you

Now here me out girl
This song is for you
All the things are good
But they are not when I´m not with you
So I really think you should
Try girl, try to find
The reason why you just blow my mind

Search it in those lonely nights
When every little tear I drop
Is a kiss I send to you...

its more of a poem, but hey... Wink

again.

the breadth of it
disintegrates, the atoms
stretch into the horizon
rasping against ozone layer
like butter on bread
how much can a person give
or partially lend to an expanse
that skyline view further going
where the horizon dips at last
to pull me under the ocean

should I be penning
forever yours, truly civilized
tell me are you expecting
more tariffed delays at others coast
for me defy madness alone
congruently everywhere landlocked
a watching lighthouse preset towards
a ship flitting over the edge of the world
to vanish where giving becomes giving up
past the frame of a kinkade imago

is where it happened

(I lost myself, as one preached
love subtracts our frictions of mass
detaching the I to watch light bend
more than 78 totaled angles
in durable composition)
