Beverley Knight Fans
i came here to post about beverley knight, and instead of making a new post about her, i looked for an old one...and didn't see one, so here goes.
beverley knight was just confirmed as the opening act for the Take That' UK tour. i thought those interested in her might dig this information. their first date is april 23, 2006 in newcastle.
check www.sonybmgmusic.co.uk for details or her website - http://www.beverleyknight.com/

Pity the tickets for Take That sold out in hours!! Not so much for Take That but for Beverley Knight I'd have tried to go. Then again the lady does have a new album coming out including her new single...
Off her website:
"Beverley Knight is releasing a collection of her hits entitled "Voice - The Best Of Beverley Knight" on March 20th 2006. It contains 11 Top 40 hits from her 1995 club classic debut, "Flava of the old School”, to her latest 2005 Top 20 hit "Keep This Fire Burning". It will be preceded on March 13th by a brand new single, 'Piece Of My Heart', Beverley's blistering interpretation of the Janis Joplin classic that she was first invited to perform with Ronnie Wood earlier this year and which became a live favourite on her 2005 tour."
Deesha given the link to that above: you can listen to 'Piece of My Heart 'on there |

thanks. dang that it sold out so fast. ah well. hopefully she'll have her own round of tour dates soon, even if they are in more smaller venues. |

She'll have her own tour, she's a big name herself now since the appearance on AFO. Not as big as TT, granted, but still big.

I'm not a fan of big venues anyways: no atmosphere. I saw her a couple of years ago at a smaller gig. That was MUCH better than any arena venue...
Hopefully people will tune into her new album & discover some of her older material (ie pre AFO era) The woman has had talent from the very start of her career... |

serious (and i mean serious) beverly knight fans can bid on her shoes for charity:
this benefits MAG -
MAG is one of the worlds leading landmine clearance organisations, currently working in 13 countries worldwide including Sudan, Angola, Iraq and Vietnam. We recruit and train local staff, create multi-skilled teams, provide emergency response, promote mine risk education and are one of the few mine action organisations in the world to recruit women and mine survivors as deminers.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7752007909
These shoes were donated as part of MAG's 'Give Landmines the Boot' Auction by Beverley Knight, the critically acclaimed British soul and R'n'B artist. These fabulous, snakeskin Jimmy Choo's were worn by Beverley on the making of the video for her hit single 'Keep the Fire Burning'. The shoes will be sent with a Jimmy Choo shoe bag and a MAG certificate, signed by Beverley to authenticate her donation.
All proceeds from this item will help MAG clear landmines across the world.
much love to her for donating the shoes |

Hmmm... pity also for both Bev and Take That fans that the promoters were stupid enough to book Late Wembley as the venue for the opening night. Did they REALLY think it was going to be ready on time?

I saw Beverley Knight on Saturday night. She's just playing a couple of solo dates whilst touring with Take That. I have to say... she's better than ever. I will never get over the power of that woman's voice. It was the best show I've been to in a very long time. My friend & I were dancing all night & everyone just seemed so happy to be there. It was like everybody was friends! |

cheers deesh!
i have seen her at manchester lowry a couple of years ago and it was a lovely venue on the river but unfortunately it's next to Man Utd's ground
She was excellent then and i think i will go and see her at Liverpool Empire but that's usually used for theatre - all seating _________________

I haven't changed my mind about this hugely talented Soul singer:
wow! what a performance on 'Jools Holland' on Fri nights show. She sang accompanied by her full band and of course - Jools who snook in on the panio as usual.
She completely nailed it and i have to say it made the hairs on the back of my neck and arms stand to attention uncontrollably as it was that good.
Beverley performed 3-tracks of her new album release - 'Music City Soul' which is a collection of covers sang by her but i think a few tracks are hers, im not to sure about that - can deesha confirm??
(will try and upload this soon but UK viewers can watch the repeat - Mon night i think)
- Ain't that alot of love
- No Man's land(current single)
- Black Butta
- Music City Soul - Try it - *edit* - link removed - Rinaldo
It's about time she got the bill on this show and hopefully others too follow as she has been around since hits like - 'flavour of the old school' and 'sista sista' if you remember them?
Quite right too as she showed a band like Travis what talent was as they continue to churn out 'durge' after a 3 year break.
It is no wonder Jay chose her for that tour as she is pure 'Gold' and if you get the chance go to one of the gigs listed above by Deesha. _________________
