Jamiroquai visits EUFOR at Butmir Camp

Hours before their sell out concert in Sarajevo Jamiroquai found time to visit the United Kingdom’s 653 Squadron Army Air Corps at EUFOR Headquarters, Butmir Camp in Sarajevo. Part way through their World Tour, the group’s concert in Sarajevo on 23 June 2005 always promised to be a spectacular event. However what the group hadn’t expected was a bird’s eye view of the concert stadium hours in advance of appearing live.
Members of 653 Squadron, part of the British Army’s Air Corps, had invited JK and his team to visit them for a special flight. The highlight came when JK and four of his crew climbed into one of the Squadron’s Lynx helicopters and took off to fly around Sarajevo. The 40 minute flight made quite an impression on the visitors as they saw a spectacular view of the city as they cruised overhead.
“I just can’t believe how beautiful the country is from up here and I can’t wait to get on the stage tonight” commented JK looking out from the aircraft as it circled high above the city on yet another stunning day!
