JMQ IN RUSSIA IN JUNE 2006 ARTICLE
Hi everyone, here's another article for you, which mentions JMQ in Russia this June...

Russia. Five megayachts expected at second Moscow Yacht Festival
Thursday, 16 February 2006
Boat show news:

The schedule has been finalized for the second annual Moscow Yacht Festival, a large festivity and on-water exhibition devoted to yachting, water sports and recreation. The event is taking place from June 15th to June 18th, 2006, at the moorage of the Central Culture and Recreation Park near the Neskuchny Gardens in the center of Moscow.

The 2006 Festival program includes the following events:Sailboat regatta through Moscow downtown; Environment activities and water shows to celebrate the Moskva River Day; Summer Yacht Music Festival; YachtGallery – exhibition of yacht-related photographs and art objects, as well as works of the world’s top yacht designers; Retro car exhibition; Traditional Motor Yacht Parade through the historical downtown of Moscow amid fireworks and laser illumination;

MAYAK 2006 Professional Yacht Award ceremony together with the Russian edition of Boat International magazine; “White Party” Gala reception for 800 ultra-VIP guests, current superyacht owners or soon-to-be, featuring Jamiroquai’s first ever live appearance in Moscow.

Besides, this year’s exhibition is expected to feature a very impressive international fleet of over 70 yachts, from weekend sailboats to ocean-going superyachts, says Nikita Gorchakov, Managing Director of the Festival. The superyacht headliners of the Festival are hull no. 35-2 from Timmerman Yachts to be launched in April 2006 and slightly refitted and re-painted “Northern Star”, also a 35-meter long motoryacht built at Timmerman’s Moscow Shipyard last year. Two other boats over 35 meters from well-known European shipyards are also awaited at the event. Every yacht will be available for test-drive on the water. Participating are all major shipyards, yacht brokers, and manufacturers of yachting gear, souvenirs, and accessories. It has become a tradition that the Festival is opened by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov ringing the watch-bell.

Moscow Yacht Festival is an annual festivity for yacht owners and enthusiasts, aimed at promoting sailing and watercraft sports, improving the ecology of Moskva River, and supporting the country’s boatbuilding and marine industry in general. Organizers of the Festival – MRP Group, Transportation and Communications Department of Moscow Mayor’s Office, and Russian Association of Yacht & Boat Dealers (MAYAK) – are confident that the Festival will soon become a hallmark event for Moscow, just as the Monaco Yacht Show is the hallmark of Monaco, and the Cannes Boat Show, along with the famous film festival, is the hallmark of Cannes.

hopefully some jamiroquai fans fit in those categories so they can go!

the old days are gone....too much fashion, too much parties, too much of everything...please, man, re-think about music, nothing else!

i wrote this on funkin, but wanted to put it here just incase...

if i were a russian fan, i'd first of all find out if this is true by contacting the organizer or people involved with the event. IF you hear back from them, i'd see about volunteering to help with the festival..like hanging up signs, sending out flyers/promo material, helping set/clean up or something in exchange for being able to go to this "exclusive" concert. since it's also so small, there is a good chance you'd get to meet the band. you might not hear back from the organizers or they may shoot your idea down, but it is worth a try. not that you'd want to help the 'ultra VIP's', but you do what you gotta do to get to where you wanna go.

**good luck**

lol at mr.moon - "so you see you have to be a schemer
If you wanna love the life you have to live" - scam, jamiroquai Wink

pepela - that sounds great. i hope you hear back from them to either confirm or deny the appearance. there was a number listed there too. if you don't hear anything, i'd follow up in about a month. these big festivals always need help, and you told them no salary, so i don't see why they wouldn't take advantage of an offer like that. i'm happy you tried. this is the first time jamiroquai is rumored to be visiting your country, so don't give up sweetie Smile
