Why are some fans always dissatisfied?
I'm sorry to be venting here, but I must get this out of my system.
I'm a member of a Jamiroquai mailing list and some fans are at it again: remembering the good old days, saying there wasn't much excitment on the Dynamite tour and wondering if the Jmq bandwagon has run out of steam...
I know I'm going to make myself VERY unpopular here, but I don't really care...
I don't think the Jamiroquai bandwagon has run out of steam. I think instead that the EUROPEAN fans have been spoiled for far too long, are bored and are now taking the band for granted. I mean, Jamiroquai tour and appear on tv shows all across Europe. It's fairly easy for an European to jump on a plane or a train and go check them out wherever they are.
There probably isn't one single European Jamiroquai fan who hasn't seen them live at least 5 times. For fans elsewhere it's much harder to follow them and we basically have to do with the "leftovers". We have to sit and pray we'll get to see them live. Until a couple of weeks ago, the Brazilian shows were still unconfirmed... And to think they even didn't come to Latin America with the AFO tour... The last - and first! - time I saw them live was in 1999 on the Synk tour. 7 long years ago...
But I still love them despite this and I'm not complaining like a child.
I remember a particular member on the ML moaning about their live shows (tracklisting + sound) on the last tour and saying she wasn't going to see them live again on that tour... I thought: "how petulant!". "Good" for her that she can boycott Jamiroquai like this. Other fans aren't given the same luxury! We just have to do with what we're given - which is basically the cd release.
I just hope fans that have much more access to Jamiroquai than others perceive what a rare and extraordinary opportunity they have in their hands and enjoy it. There are millions of others (myself included) who would like to be in their shoes and be able to to enjoy Jamiroquai far more.

I hear you Cesar!
I'm a huge Jami fan and I live in the UK.
Your message has made me realise how lucky the European fans are in comparison. We get a lot more tourdates and TV/radio appearances and we take them for granted.
I feel sorry for you and many other fans in your situation and fully believe that Jamiroquai should do more for the fans outside Europe.
I'm presuming that the largest chunk of the Jami fanbase is from Europe which may be the big reason as to why a lot more is done in Europe than the rest of the world. _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

Sad to say but, unluckily, true
I agree with Dannyev: one of the main reason of this no-choice about touring in determined country is easily to attribute at the fact that Europe "picks up" millions fans: concerts, private gigs, promotions, interviews and TV appereances r mostly done in Europe.
I really understand your deep regret, it's hard to accept this. _________________

That's very inteligent, Cesar. Thanks. It makes me value what we could have/do, and I'm not only talking about Jamiroquai |
