The War in Iraq
I think it's about time we discuss what seems to be inevitable. The war in Iraq looks like it's almost definitely going to happen now, and the United States is totally divided. The government is dominated by conservatives who seem to insist on war with or without the support of the rest of the world, but I want everyone to know that not all of us support this war.
I for one am very embarassed that the United States is war-mongering, and that the rest of the world seems very against war. I have a feeling many of the Jamirotalkers are also opposed to this action.
I'm particularly interested in what DIDGIN thinks of the present situation. I imagine it's pretty scary.
Tell me what you think!
Peace. |

Inevitable
Planet Home for all of us then, Jazza's Funked?
I dislike the word "inevitable", but that's the only word to describe the situation right now.
When will it all stop?
to War and Destruction of the world. |

I agree. I think everybody should go to the moon
The protests yesterday didn't seem to get the attention of our leaders....what else can we do? War will destroy us in the end, I think. |

Yeah, it really seems that the US goverment - especially Junior Bush - want this war in any case. It really scares me - but I'm glad to hear that there are many Americans that are against this war and against this way of dividing the world into "good countries" and "bad countries". Now Germany and France are counted among the "bad countries" because they don't want to provide this war. Maybe we are the next to be attacked (just a very bad joke )
All these evil old men (and women??) who want to enlarge their power and their accounts should be sent to Mars or to another solar system - then we could try to live in peace here on our planet home |

You know, I was once like most of you in your opinion that the war in Iraq was an abomination until the London bombings took place...I had slowly put 9/11 in the back of my head and then the terrorists struck the Tube. I really don't want terrorists blowing themselves up here in America on a daily basis and turn the cities (like Boston, where I live) into battlefields.
I still think that the coalition has to fight the insurgents. I love peace as much as the next guy, but there are some times where you just have to fight to get the peace. It may be a mess now, but if the coalition leaves, it WILL get even worse.
However...if the Iraqis keep fighting each other (Shia and Sunni) and disregard democracy, I'm tempted to hope that the coalition will pull out, protect the oil fields (let's not kid each other, EVERYONE wants this), let the civil war happen and prepare for Iran. From the looks of it, that's where our troops are heading next.
If only President Bush had stuck to his word about not going off on nation-building... _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. War is not a solution to terrorism. Intelligence work defeats terrorism, the capture of their leaders, not war. _________________ We're going to a funktion yeah yeah yeah |

True, intel work is very important...it seems to me that America could be wise to learn a thing or two from the Brits in that regard...I just think that the Brits are more precise about it.
Anyway, hoping for the best on all fronts. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Peace on Earth is a wonderful sentiment and I hope that one day it shall be achieved, but I'm not sure it will. As long as mankind possesses free will, there will always be something to fight about--religion, land, government...
Just my two cents. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |
