JamiroFan's Review of Jam "LateNightTales" CD!!!!
buffaloman_R Hello, :bm_r:

I can't tell you how happy I was to see the new Jamiroquai edition of "LateNightTales" sitting all bright and happy on the new release aisle at my local record store...I was all Very Happy! Well, finished listening to it and boy what a experience! This is probably the best music compilation I have ever heard! The best bits of the compilation had to be Rufus & Chaka Khan "Once You Get Started", The Commodores "I Think the World About You", & Johnny Hammond "Fantasy", these songs have really turned me onto these artists and many others on the compilation, I will fully investigate there individual sounds in the future Wink! I applaud Whoa Music on a ingenius compilation and thank JK for helping the fans discover and love the music he adored while he grew up! Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Glad to hear it's good. Can't wait to hear it.

Where did you buy it, Jamirofan? I'm guessing, Plan 9???

Yep Freddie buddy!!!
buffaloman_R Hello Freddie, :bm_r:

You are absolutely correct in your guess, Plan 9 Music, great little independant music store chain. I've gotten all my promo Jamiroquai stuff there over the years, including: During TWOM promotion: posters and a cool mobile, During the Synkronized Promotion: Another cool mobile, a 10 track album sampler CD & a 12 video videotape, & During the A Funk Odyssey: two Jamiroquai Levi Silvertab T-Shirts. It really helps me having friends working at Plan 9s, both locations usually! There's still not enough record stores here, yeah Plan 9 & Tower Records help alot, but I dream of a Virgin Megastore or another chain opening a enormous record store here in Richmond, but that's just pipe dreams Sad. Thanks for listening, and I was wondering Freddie, if there's ever any CDs I can't seem to get through these record stores, could you help me out by checking out your local stores? I'll e-mail you after I finish this post, there's one I need. Peace and continue to enjoy the Big Apple!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Just got mine today. Very groovy. The cover of California Dreamin' sounded to me like a sound that Jay wanted to reproduce in CORNER OF THE EARTH, or BLACK CROW. That just occured to me.

Anyway, it's a good compilation. For the disco fan that has a hard time jumping in head first for a disco album from only one artist, this is a nice way to go about expanding your music collection. You can get your fill, after all, outside of the PURE DISCO and PURE FUNK series'. I've never heard any of these songs before, but I'm comforted by the fact that Jay picked them out.

Pick it up!

Missy, If we cast a spell on all the cd stores in Canada, I'm sure it will appear! 3wizard

I got my tales, too good
I really like them.... you really feel good while listning.... fire jump
Freddy :didn´t know the songs too.. Embarassed

but what I´m thinking about is, these are all songs which had been published when jay was 10 years old or even younger.....
Have you listended to those songs when you had been that age Question
and he said that he used to listen to some (i think to all Wink ) songs while smoke'n'jump at the age at 16.....
have you listened to "old" songs at that age ??
interesting.......
i think he really had been in a big contact to those songs through his mum.... don´t you think so too??

it´s fantastic how jay "mixed" this "old stuff" into a new vibe.....

space cowboy ........ really he is :!:

but those collection of songs is recommendable somersault

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm too young to have been exposed to this music when it was being made. Aside from that, my family doesn't really like disco and funk, so anything I hear I have to find for myself. On top of everything else, my town had no acceptable radio station for purely disco and funk. We had one station that came close, because it played soul classics, but some of the music was pretty terrible.

Anyway, yes, I don't know the songs, but I like them.

:)
It's all good. Love the Kleeer song, the singer's got an amazing voice.

In response to Mrs Moon's comments, I had thoughts along the same lines, being a similar age to Jay Kay and living in the same country, my music memory radar doesn't go "ping" with any of these songs, although some of the artists sit in the memory bank.

Mrs Moon, I think you're right with the music influence coming from Jay's mother. My musical influence as a kid was my older sister, her taste in my pre-teens was in The Specials, The Jam, Billy Idol type vein.

LateNightTales is a good compilation, well worth the money Very Happy

@mrs Moon
2wave hello Mrs Moon, regards to Mr Moon.

My favourite? H'mmm difficult to say, I like "What's your name" Leon Ware.

Love "raining through my sunshine"

The theme from "Enter the Dragon" is great, makes me want to run round doing stupid kung fu type kicks! I wish I hadn't heard the preview of the songs, this song would have popped up as a funny surprise!

The CD is romantic, without being soppy and too loved-up mushy. A great Cd to dance with your man to. Love the "uhhh...uhhhh....uhhhh....uhhhh" bits of the Ashford and Simpson number.

I like ALL the songs!

lol
Mrs Moon, I love your emoticons, you are sooooooo excitable!

Me & my Mum done the housework to the CD yesterday, sitting down for a cup of tea, Mum's foot was really tapping (can't remember which song), so the CD gets the good from the Grandma's! I kept saying to her "you know this song??You KNOW this one???? GRRRRRRRRRRR....You KNOW THIS ONE??????" (i hit her hard for not knowing them)

Unfortunately, my Mum just liked Cliff Richard and Shawaddywaddy (?) in that era of these songs :S.

by the way, Mrs Moon, I have been in line with Mr Moon :D

Regards to Germany
