....I used to say "too much rock in today's Jamiro sound"....this review confirm my words about Rob....I'm seriously beginning to hate rock....(if I want to listen and watch wonderful rock, I put my Led Zeppelin's DVD in my DVD player, NOT Jamiroquai!) Confused

This is what SPACECOWBOY_VIBE (Marco Antonio) said about the Jmq gig in Mexico on another thread. I'm copying it here because that thread was closed down.

Mexico DF Gig

The contert was amasing... they played a very close similar set from the gigs in south america...
I recorded the concert on my camera, but the security catched me...they tried to take my camera away, and i managed to take out the cassete and give it to the girl next to me.. she said she was into this comunity, so I am hoping I could contact her here.... Cassette girl, please get in touch with me!!!

jay wore the poncho and a "mexico" fleece... he danced some tunes and he made several coments on his age. Ie. This next tune was from when I was young and hansome..."
he did say a couple of times "gracias" and he was trully polite...

i can´t write a full review cause my plane leaves in a couple of hours...but THERE IS A TAPE WITH THE MEXICAN GIG IN THE HANDS OF A FAN...i asked her to meet me outside, but i was kept "arrested" for a bit of time... and it was already late when the gig was offf.

ohh yeh, jay was walking around the national auditorium with his security guy the tall and bald headed one... he was super kewl with me..

jamiroquai rules,

marco antonio

How funny! He said exactly the same thing in Rio while he was introducing "Revolution 1993". I don't remember if I said it in my review.

hola!!!!
this is the first time that i write here (although i've been in this forum since 2002) Smile but i have to tell u abot the concert yesterday!

the concert in mexico was great!!!!

i went also in '99 to see them, and i agree with Wolf, yesterday's concert was even better!!!
i liked use the force, 7 days, space cowboy.... all of them!!!

the only thing that i didn't like was the people in the area where i was standing: there was a guy on the left side of me, and he was barely moving and didn't even sang! and also a couple next to me: the girl was all static, with her arms cross, u know, like if she was mad or something! i think she didn't know jamiroquai very much.
EY girl you were at a jami concert! not at a funeral!!

did this happend to any of you at jami or other concert?

it was a little sad/odd that that the people in that area (balcony) didn't party very much Sad

but it doesn´t matter, cause the people on the front (lucky u!) were partying big time Very Happy

so, thanks jamiroquai for an excellent concert.
i hope they come back soon! Smile

saludos de cuernavaca a todos los fans mexicanos! y cuéntenos su experiencia Wink

Ok, now I'm calm enough to write something.

Setlist was the same as South America, except that they missed Alright and VI cos maybe, J was very tired, he kept trying to catch his breath, as I said, we have less oxygen here (altitude) so it's hard to perform without much adapting.

Ok, the guy behind me got caught with his camera and he was taken out, to never come back, too bad dude, no recording is worth missing the action LIVE! is it you marco antonio? I'm the guy in second row on the left, where there' was no one in front of me? Is it you, the guy with glasses???! send me some audio man!

I'm still shocked that Rob showed himself reachable and very friendly, he would've taken me backstage but it's just that I needed to tell him, hard but throwing a note in a paper at him would've done the trick, still, I'm happy to have had the chance of seeing them so close, and getting a drumstick as a souvenir, maybe next time ill hit the backstage.

I'm a hardcore fan and have been for 9 years so I'll always enjoy a good jamiroquai concert, last night's was amazing, believe me, I reckon it's far better than any other gig, not to compare but, we got something special here Wink

Jamirofans Worldwide,

What can I say about last night's gig?! I'm sure that those of you who have seen Jamiroquai perform live agree with me that there's nothing as good as a concert of them!

Concert started at 8:40 pm (aprox) with the Intro and as soon as the band and Jay appeared, the audience just freaked out!!

To be honest, it was kinda funny the beginning cuz, everybody was waiting for them, but at the same time, some of us (like me and other friends) were chatting and dancing when suddenly the lights went out and ¡BUM! We knew it was the beginning. I had to run to my place to be sure I didn't miss anything! Smile My place was at row B. Which was really close to the band!

I can't think of a favorite song for the concert. Each one of the songs played were so awesome and with something special. From Canned Heat to Deeper Underground, I just couldn't stop singing, shouting, dancing, partying... I am still "SHOCKED" and soooo Happy about it!

I loved when Jay asked us to help him sing:"HEY" at Black Capricorn Day and must admit we did a great job! Very Happy

Or the final sounds of Deeper Undergroud that made all the Auditorium vibrate!!!

Love Foolosophy was awesome! I even called my young sister to her mobile so that she could hear it. (she loves that song!)

I must say that when they played Time Won't Wait I had the best feeling of my life. Its my favorite song of Jamiroquai. I closed my eyes for a second and felt such a happiness deep in my heart!

I turned round and saw that everybody was enjoying the concert as much as I was doing it! It was so GREAT to see that everybody loose their inhibitions. You could see everybody dance: from the youngest guys, to the not so young; from the skinny girls to the ones not that skinny; from the ones that were in row AA to the ones that were behind...

Conclusions? Jamiroquai means EXTREME HAPPINESS AND JOY!

I'm sure that not even writing 1000 pages I could describe the emotion of seeing Jamiroquai Live.

Hope they come back to Mexico soon!!!! As for now, I still have the images of last night in my mind and I'm extremely happy!

Thanks Jay and Band for the giving us such GIFT!!!!!!
