This would be ssooooo great! He really made even justin timberlake singing good
music !!!
of course the jamies don´t need that kind of help .

WOW! Great news!
Jamiroquai will reach new fans with this cooperation and hopefully will reach american fans.
And, besides, more people will be speaking about Jamiroquai.
Great, great, news. Thanks Mrs Moon!!! |

The Neptunes
Hello, :bm_r:
Yeah, I'm pretty excited about that news I read in the recent Tense Magazine interview with JK! The Neptunes are a perfect choice to hand over some new Jamiroquai stuff too, to either remix or add some new distinct Neptunes flare too! I really hope JK hooks up with them, it will be truly a "Return of Space Cowboy" for us neglected American Jamiroquai fans like your truly! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

they don´t need any kind of help. If Jay needs advice, he should send a copy of the album to Stu.
If we are expecting for the old good brass, we are never going to see it again if the neptunes do something with JK.
And I don´t want jamiroquai sounding like justin timberlike, ore everybody saying: -Have you heard that group, jamiroquai?
-Oh yes i have. the neptunes helped that jamiroquai to record the album. That´s why it sounds so good.
A last thing: if you want jamiroquai to be more popular, you have to choose between been funky or not. Funk music is no so popular as it was, and the majority of the people they just listen that pop-shit-music. Look at the Red Hots. they made funk music in their firs two albums, but the popular they become, the popper they got. (popper, I wonder if that word exists). So you got the idea.
That´s the way I think. I´m not very happy of hearing that the neptunes are helping jamiroquai. Anyway, it´s just a rumour. |

Whoa that would suck majorly!
The Neptunes and Justin Timberlake suck just like all the other pop-trite rubbish out there.
If Jay Kaye does something like that then I think the crack's really gone to his head...btw Cannabliss is the crappest song I've ever heard from Jamiroquai. Stick to jazz mate...
I hope this new bassist helps them return to their jazz/funk fusion roots, you know the stuff that actually has some musicality...
Guess I still miss Zender bad...that can't be helped, hope this new bassist is the panacea Jamiroquai needs.
The rumour bout the Neptunes sounds like BS though.
One thing's for sure, I'm gonna be mighty disappointed if their new album is just a stunt to break into the US and grab more $$.
If Shoot the Moon's anything to go by then perhaps Jamiroquai might just return to their old sound.
Those unreleased Synkronized tracks sounded really cool...it's such a shame that the 4th Zenderish album never made it, I reckon it probably would've ruled.
Zender and Simon Katz and Toby Smith were Kaye's biggest assets I reckon, Jamiroquai ain't Jamiroquai without them. |

I share the same feeling as you, S_ntinel. I too don't like the new songs that much only shoot the moon. They're so simple and not thought out too much. Mainly just the same lyrics and guitar part over and over again until it gets boring. I hope what you said about the new bassist will come true.
As far as the Neptunes, well I may just be biased since I'm in North America, but I think even if it's a publicicty stunt, I'll be happier just to hear Jamiroquai on the radio or on tv more often. _________________

So will I. It'll be nice if they can get some attention over here. Maybe if it works they'll even have a tour here! |

Well... I completely want the old jami sound, and I said in other topics that CANNABLISS was the most horrible song of Jamiroquai ever...it just...it doesnt work. |

About Canabliss...mhm...what problem do you have with that song? Sincerely, I can't understand the people saying those critical phrases. Have you thought Jamiroquai is more 10 years old? Really, I don't know any music band have kept the same sound long time. They have different eras, and the band I'm a psycho fan, has got it too. Jamiroquai is a good band, with nice musicians, and inevitably his sound will change forever. If Jay would like to return to EOPE or ROTSC beats, he can do it, but you'll know about AFO and Jay isn't the young boy right now.
Cannabliss isn't a bad song and some gigs have pretty versions of it. If you don't believe me, try to get Singapour 2002 and listen. So, please tell me what do you think.
Peace of mind, Nicolas _________________ I'm slidin' down the wall

Cannabliss is a thin rock song with pretty insubstantial subject matter.
As far as the music goes, the guitar riff ain't exactly grabbin...and the chorus just does not rock. All in all the song does not work, Funky Odyssey is alright...but musically it's a bit on the simplistic and diluted side for someone as talented as Kaye.
The killer album for me was Travelling Without Moving as it was the perfect meld of get on down funkness with live playing. The album sounded live, and that was why it was so appealing (at least for us musicians). Kaye's last album was OK but the sound compared to the old sound is verging on the sampled, non-live, side of things. Even their live stuff sounds boring...they sound poppy. (I don't know if anyone else has found this, but Nick Fyffe has never sounded good playing Canned Heat live...it's completely different to the album...I can't even hear any effects in his bass. Stu Zender on the other hand usually made his live renditions sound better than the album, eg Finsbury Park High Times live).
Pop music wants to dumb everything down and homogenise music, Jamiroquai were a breath of fresh air with TWM because they sounded real...so in my opinion if Kaye loses that edge he'll lose the thing that makes Jamiroquai special.
I'm really eager to check out how the new bassist sounds, as when Nick Fyffe came on board Jam's sound changed dramatically. Although Jay may be the front man and the distinctive Jamiroquai voice, I believe it's the musicians who determine the band's sound overall. I hope the new bassist is different from Fyffe, and also Zender, but I hope he has more flair like Zender had. |

I think we all need to have some faith in Jay. I believe Synkronized was rushed, and AFO ill-planned, but I think JK has serious plans and hopes to make album six as good as his earlier albums. I think we cannot completely judge the content of album six based on what we heard in concert at least a year ago. Just like Canned Heat (with Titan) is very different in concert than it is on the album, so too I think we will hear very different versions of CANNABLISS and SHOOT THE MOON by the time the album comes out. I think Jay is never completely satisfied with his music, and the fact that they have been performing Cannabliss since mid-2002 makes me think that they have been working on the track ever since then, and what we end up getting may be something wholy different.
Just have faith. Jamiroquai is my favorite band for a reason; I refuse to believe that they are in a downward spiral. The last two albums aren't my favorite, but Jay wants to return to the magic they had with the first three, and I think he is talented enough to fulfill that promise.
Cheers. |

I agree with you, Freddie.
And to gonna_dance: Well... if you like that track, is ok. Is just that we have different opinions. I think that Jamiroquai can make so much better songs than CANNABLISS, thats for sure!!!!. Those guitar riffs doesnt work on me and maybe with a clearer sound, I mean, recorded in a studio and everything...it might sound alright.
OK. Lets wait until the sixth album comes out and then we talk about it. |

Well, if you don't like it well, it's so reasonable...But really isn't comparable with others songs. You have reason, but I think isn't useful to compare AFO with EOPE.

Well...Today I was thinking about the next album (after buying yesterday Late Night Tales) and I came out with this idea:
I think that Jamiroquai wanted to prove with the audience what would be acceptable for the next album:
Funk Odyssey was actually the same sound we heard in A Funk Odyssey, so, THE CURRENT SOUND
Then, Cannabliss, a song that tried to reach a NEW DIRECTION for Jamiroquai's music.
And finally Shoot The Moon, which is the song, I think, is the return of the old Jami sound.
According to this, I would have to say that I want the old Jami sound, more like Space Cowboy or When You Gonna Learn.
But this are just my thoughts. |
