i absolutely looove to travel. my parents are both travel agents and the'yve been all over the world (really), so imagine how i grew up at home: always surrounded by travelling stories. it's a very regular situation when we're talking about ANYTHING, one of them mentions "oh, when i was in x city, or when i went to x country blablabla.."
so i guess i just got that from them. there are some places i really wanna visit some time in my life: some of them are Greece, Egipt,Jamaica.. (in fact, all central america)

so..that's my situation hehehe Cool

Hey!

Great topic! My answer is yes...I love travelling!

I can't say I've travelled very far in my life...in fact, I've never been outside Europe! But, the world is a big place and I intend to see as much of it as I possibly can! Smile

yes, i love, love, love to travel. been thinking about going back to school for travel and tourism. like marina, my family (grandparents) run a travel agency for the elderly. they go on so many trips and i caught that bug.

my goal is to see all continents by the time i am 40..i have 12 years to go and only 2 covered. it's all good...asia is in 2008 and australia in 2007 - then i'll have 4 down.

i think travelling is so good for the mind and soul, especially going to a place that has a complete opposite custom and culture from your own.

Smile

Me too, I love travelling, even if I didn't travel a lot.

I think this is thanks to my brother and his wife, who give me the pleasure to travel, only seeing his photos taken from his journeys. He likes a lot Latin America, and Africa. Now he plans to go to New Zealand during September.
I want to know Latin America (my brother has been in Ecuador and Venezuela), some African countries (like Namibia), Australia, but especially Japan.

I notice this vote is 100% for 'yes' so far. Which just tells us something, doesn't it? Intelligent people like to travel. Jamiroquai people are intelligent. Therefore Jamiroquai people like to travel. Makes sense to me.

So far I've visited the Americas (North and South) and a couple of bits of Europe. I'm very lucky to be English, and thus have Europe right on my doorstep (not to mention the fact that every other country is dirt cheap compared with this one!). I've seen the Netherlands from Amsterdam south, Berlin, north-western France, Barcelona (I've got two cousins from there), Cyprus (the Greek, internationally-recognised part), Budapest (this past April, of course), and all around my own country on my own, with parents and with Noe (except a few bits like East Angular) in Europe. In North America I've only seen Juneau, Alaska, but I suspect that's the best bit in many ways. If I ever see a more beautiful city in my life, I'll cry. I swear I will. I WILL go back there one day... it's just unbelievable.

In South America, of course, I've seen the wonderful Republic of Argentina, for a reason you all know about. Well, a fair bit of the northern two-thirds of it, at least - Cataratas del Iguazú, Mendoza, Bariloche, and of course BA. I've only spent three-months-and-a-week there in total so far (another six weeks to come in the northern hemisphere winter, can't wait!), but Buenos Aires really feels like a second home in so many ways, helped by the fact that Noe's parents are probably the most welcoming two people in Argentina, considering I'd flown halfway round the world, we have no shared language, and even Noe had never met me the first time I went...

Still got a lot more to see, though. Aside from Uruguay and the rest of Argentina I want to get through Rio (well... a fair bit of Brazil, actually), Bolivia, Macchu Picchu (and the other one that's just opening up but whose name I can't remember how to spell right now), Mexico, New York, Boston, San Francisco, the bits of Spain that aren't Barcelona (which I'll be doing in October, if all goes to plan), Italy, Paris, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Oz, Japan, Beijing, Hong Kong, various bits of India, Jamaica, Cuba, the Galapagos, New Zealand, Cambodia, Mongolia, Tibet (if I can stand the altitude)... most of the world really. Including, of course, anywhere with an even semi-famous football stadium.

'The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page' - St. Augustine.

Noe's not been to the northwest, her parents went a couple of years ago when I was there. Amazing photos, but they had to chew a lot of coca. I felt a bit funny just driving up to Aconcagua from Mendoza, so I'm not sure how I'd cope with altitude (I've been to a fair few places so far, granted, but none of them very far above sea level!)...

No. Starts with a 'C'. Cochequimbamba*, or something similar. It's literally only being opened to outsiders in the last 18 months or so. I've seen a few photos and read a couple of articles and apparently it's better than Macchu Picchu, because for the moment at least, visitors can actually sleep on the steps of the site itself. I'll have a flick through my old travel magazines tomorrow and get the name...

And Mr. Az, we (Noe, her parents and I) were in Mendoza in August, 2003. Also saw Cataratas that year, and Bariloche in 2004. Mendoza's a Lovely city, great weather! And I love the wine. Wink The scenery's alright as well...

Sam

* I DO know what 'bamba' means, don't worry! That's not the real name, but like I said, I'll find it out tomorrow. Wink
