Hi
I'm actually quite impressed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers album, very good. And I enjoy the first 2 videos. Accurate type of video clips.

Two more new releases I thought you guys would be interested in.
Los Amigos Invisbles has a new album out this week. I think it's called Superpop Venezuela. You can hear a new cut from the album on their myspace..which I don't know off hand.
Amy Winehouse also has a new album coming out on October 23, 2006 (UK) called Back to Black. Info is also on her myspace, which I don't know off hand. I heard a rumor that Mark Ronson produced some stuff on her album, but I don't know how true that is. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

'Crazy Itch Radio' from Basement Jaxx
'Sound Advice' from Shapeshifters (US Release in Sept.)
Can't wait for both of these suckers. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

Goapele (beautiful soul..sounds like Sade and she is absolutely gorgeous) comes out at the end of this year, or maybe the beginning of next year, not sure. You can listen to some stuff off her new album at http://www.giantstep.net/releases/901/ and find out more about her. Goapele's first album is amazing.:
That's all I can think of right now |
Deesh, how much of Sade is in her music? I really digged the more up tempo stuf from sade with some nice bass by Paul S Denham

Soon...
It's October 2nd soon... autumn getting closer... then you might need something to fight depression. The new Jamiroquai releases are still far away. Perhaps this can help you get by in the meantime. I know it'll make me happy athough the weather makes me wanna cry. Their version of Roy Ayer's 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine' is awesome!!!
October 2nd...

Incognito Bees+Things+Flowers
Brand new album from Incognito. It features new arrangements of four Incognito classics – Always There, Still A Friend Of Mine, Everyday and Deep Waters – and covers of such great tunes as Roy Ayers’ "Everybody Loves The Sunshine", Earth Wind & Fire’s "That's The Way Of The World", "Summer In The City" and a stunning remake of America’s "Tin Man". There are also three brand new Bluey compositions. Six tracks feature a 16-piece string section and the line-up of lead vocalists on this radio-friendly album is the strongest ever assembled for an Incognito album – CARLEEN ANDERSON, JOCELYN BROWN, MAYSA, JOY ROSE, IMAANI and TONY MOMRELLE. Release date is October 2nd.
I'm really looking forward to this release... where's a drool emoticon when you need one? _________________ Old school forever!

It's a NEW ALBUM? WOW! I saw it on Amazon last night and just scanned the tracklist really quickly, saw Always There and Still A Friend Of Mine and assumed it was just a 'best of...' Sounds very cool though...

Clips of all songs from Bees+Things+Flowers can be found here:
Just listen to 'Raise'... oohhh
It's got a 4hero touch to it... but better imho. That one and their version of 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine' are reason enough for me to buy this CD. _________________ Old school forever! |

Thanks Jonas for that link.
I heard some of the album on Grooveline's radio show a few weeks back. They are archived, I believe...
Scroll down to August 29, 2006 - Show 101 - Hour 2.
Click on the Blast 1386 logo at the top to the right to see if that particular show is available.

Rene - I'm sorry I didn't see your post before about Goapele. My bad. The Sade influence is heard more in the tone of her voice, than the musicianship. She is not as good as Sade at all, and her uptempo stuff is ehhh...okay, but the emphasis with Goapele is more on her political social poetic lyrics, and her musicians are nice, but no where near Sade's. Plus, Goapele hasn't really peaked in the mainstream or even made dents on any particular market, so I think her musicians are still amateur. I will send you some stuff next week via email. They are similar to me in the laid back, chill, relaxed, deep type of vibe with their voices. A lot of people write Goapele off as boring, but I really dig her and she puts on a good live show.
I wanted to post about the latest Los Amigos Invisibles album: Superpop Venezuela:
First of all, I love their covers. But anyway, got this album yesterday and it's phenomenal. I have been playing it non-stop. Songs to look out for are 'All Day Today' and 'Dun Dun'. I also really like 'Miss Venezuela'. 'Dun Dun' is very addictive. I've played it over and over, and it's just a simple song, but the beat and horns give it extra added flavor that make me want to dance. I recommend picking this album up. They are just wonderful and I'll see them in concert on October 7th!!
An album well done - they stick to their roots so well, while still evolving. I haven't been an Amigos fan for long, so I may be a bit jaded, but still...diggin' it hard! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Jeroen - I'm going to see him with John Legend on 10/28! Tickets were kind of expensive, but it's all good. Wanted to let you know that you can hear 3 songs from the album here (if you already haven't heard them):
http://www.giantstep.net/releases/1158/
I'm going to try and get an interview with him..it's a longshot, but I'll try.
Album out tomorrow!! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |
