where will it go from here..?
Have any of you ever wondered what happens with jay's tour hat when the tour is over?
I read that sometimes he gives his 'regular' hats to charitty, but what happens, for instance, with the AFO hat? or the Dynamite, or the Synk ones??
does he save them? does anyone know?
What do u think about it??? |

Hello,
Well, JK's hat history is pretty varied, some he gives to charity as well noted by sister Marina, and others he probably keeps in a backlit glass presentation wall case in his closet at home. But he does have a history on misplacing his hats, we all remember back in 1997 when JK lost his TWOM "black tophat" on a airplane flight between the UK and States, I still wonder what happened to it! Also, his hats can be mistreated, during the 2001 tour, a few blades on his AFO hat broke off, you can see some of them missing in the "Live In Verona" DVD, JK also mending them with some ducttape...hehe. But I another thing I wonder is....does Karen Kay, JK's mum, wear her OWN personalized Jami themed hats? I always had the image of Karen with a large black mushroom shaped fake animal fur hat with a sign in neon lights flashing on and off the words, "I'm JK's Mum, so bugger off!"....HEHE! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. Upon further thinking, I really think JK should meet up with Brother D for some new hat ideas for the new Jami material promotions post Sony/BMG! _________________

Do you think Jay will get a new, completely different hat for the 'high times' album? _________________ ROWAN |

Mmm... that's a really good question.
I think it will be an evolution of the current one... I don't know, let's see!

I've read in a couple of interviews that he gives most hats away to charity but also keeps a few so he can show his kids when he's older, here's a quote from a MTV Asia 2002 interview...
So do you have a museum of some sort for your hats at home?
A lot of them go to charity after I’m done with them. I try to keep a couple so if I ever have kids I can hand it all to them. Then they can sit and laugh and go, "Look! That’s what my dad used to wear on stage! What an idiot!"

I think so too. The AFO and Dynamite hats are so perfects. I think this may be very diffcult now to make a hat more creative than these hats. |

i really think he needs to think well about the new hat... he can't go out there again the third consecutive tour wearing the same thing...
and about the old hats, i'd like to have the TWM era one!! yay! gheghe _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

Hmmm, what a ponderous subject! I do hope the new tour hat will have a little extra funk! Maybe a chocolate fountain or something
A little offtopic... but Bono once wore sunglasses with a wee camera attached to them and on the dvd you can see his perspective of the gig... very freaky! Would be sooo cool if we could get a camera on Jay's hat - think how wonderful (and dizzying) all his prancing about would look like! |

haha - i love your idea cosmic pumpkin!!
imagine eating the chocolate from THAT fountain:
"oh excuse me jay - would you mind being my little party piece and sitting in the middle of my table so everyone can eat chocolate from your hat?"
haha - love it!
And i don't much like the idea of watching a concert in his perspective after eating all that chocolate
