I don't know what to think about this...Jamiroquai is acting as a real band right now and not as a jk-one-man-band. Hope that Jay 'll not erase everything (like he did in the past...) now that we have such great musicians!

...and of course the band MUST give us a recording of the gig...a little bit of respect for us poor fans Laughing

No, it's "Hamiroquai". Wink Razz

Seriously though, the name Jamiroquai is forever tied to Jay, so no Jay, no Jamiroquai.

IF this little "project" would lead to something it would most certainly be a new band. But unless Jay decides to retire my guess is that this is nothing but a side project just for fun... playing covers of songs they like, no material of their own etc. Simply a party band! Smile

A few years ago, I assist to an instrumental gig of Jamiroquai in a London theatre, with Rob, Nick (Fyffe), Solà & Derrick... That was a great show...
Solà & Derrick played (first) with funky improvisation, & they were join by Rob & Nick... They played Space Cowboy, Love Fool, A Funk Odyssey...
After that, Nick, Rob & drummer Marc Mondésir played Jimi Hendrix' Purple Haze... Quiet a good gig I must say ! Wink

Jamiroquai without Jay is not Jamiroquai. They can do what they want, play what they want, sing what they want, no one can substitute Jason.

Histeria we are not trying to replace Jay, we're just having a little fun if that's OK by you! You are right, it's not Jamiroquai, it's just a bunch of people who like playing good tunes

good

in my opinion, this gig don't mean they are a real group, i mean, they did this without jay, so this mean that they love playing together and all, but not that they are a real group, because the real group is those who played there and jay.....

In my opinion this just proves that they are a bunch of people who like each other, get along well, enjoy each other's company "after business" so to speak... and they share a common love for great music and playing it live brings them closer together. Simply put... they're not just work mates, they've grown to be friends end enjoy a bit of jammin' in their spare time.

right!!
I actually meant a group like " group of ppl" not like a band (but as I said many times U've got to be patient with my english Laughing ), yes the main thing is that they like each other ( out of the lines of a contract)!!

Inaki with Jay they play all the time, maybe they wanted only to have some fun and relax! and to decide by themself ( you know what I mean, Jay's the boss!!)

In normal bands that are grown togheter, born togheter this is normal, but is amazing they all like each other without have choose each other!!
Understandable?? I'm a bit spaced x my exams so if I write something strange forgive me plz Smile

Still I hope I had such a great time and good relation with the ppl I work with!! (which is not!)
