"Hollywood Swinging" MP3, limited time only!!!!
Hello, :bm_r:
If you wanted to hear the entire JK rendition of "Hollywood Swinging" performed by Kool & the Gang, now is your chance! The Funkin Site has a complete MP3 of Jamiroquai's "Hollywood Swinging" rendition for free download for a limited time only, here's a link to this beautiful-belly-bumping-and-bouncing cover! :
http://www.funkin.com/downloads/new
For more details about the interesting places this was recorded in the linear notes of the Kool & the Gang double album coming out titled "Musical Odyssey" May 10th in Europe, stateside about the same time, just click on over to http://www.funkin.com and read the news, I would cut N paste the info on this post, but I prefer that all fans go to Funkin Site and read it for themselves. My reason for that is to help expose new fans to the Funkin Site, yeah we experienced fans take the site for granted, but I want to help them discover it for themselves . Thanks for listening and ENJOY HEE-YEAH HEE-YEAH...HOLLYWOOD SWINGING...SWING DO THAT THING !!! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. HUGE, AND HUMONGOUS PROPS to David at the Funkin Site for sharing this, you are the man! _________________

AWESOME!!!
Here's my thing though: On the Dell Jukebox I have on my computer, it says it was Kool and the Gang featuring Jamiroquai. Does that mean that it was only JK with K&G or did the whole Jamiroquai band (and Derrick's mechanized drum loop) get in on this?
I'm really hoping for the latter. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

You know, I was saying to Jamirofan just the other day that I thought it was Kool N the Gang backing Jk on vocals...If that is the case what about the guys on this board (sorry Jamirofan, I can't bite my tongue any longer!) that thought this tune wasn't up to standard.. huh! Kool N the Gang are legends. This is AWESOME and a huge thanks to David at Funkin for putting it out there. And if it turns out that its not Kool N the Gang then so what! It's still awesome. I'm so excited about this. I can hardly wait to go to some Dj's I know and say "Hey listen to this!" (believe me they are no strangers to Jamiroquai!) |

I just listened to it. It's not as good as I was hoping. Mainly because of the beat. It's just so boring with the same beat throughout the whole song. It's like a really bad loop of Little L or something. I dunno, it sounded a bit like the little l beat to me. Oh well, it's good to hear some new Jamiroquai, though! _________________

I think it's Jamiroquai playing, not Kool & The Gang. Why would Kool play on its own tribute album? No that I hear the whole song I'm warming up to it a bit, but I still don't like it as much as I liked the live version. Not a bad track though. Hope I can get my hands on a high quality recording soon. |

I heard the same, Smellbob. When I put the song, it was the exact same beat that Little L. I like more the live version, that's for sure (actually, this version could have been easily included on AFO, here is where you notice what I want to say about AFO, about how it sounds...). Too electronic for me. |

I was listening to it on my discman today and it sounded better for some reason. I like it a lot more now. It just reminds me so much of little l, though. Maybe that's why I like it. Anyways, it's a pretty good cover. _________________
