Here are my 2 cents in this 5.000 dollars worth of opinions.
I've been listening to the entire song all day (also broadcasted in the Argentinean radios, I heard the intro alone) and I really like it. Well, like all of us, part that we like and parts that we don't like. But over all, the song is very good.
First of all, the intro and the first verse that leads to the chorus is PERFECT, I haven't heard something similar in a long time. I do think that the chorus needs more strength, same thing that happened with '(Don't) Give Hate A Chance' (by the way, 10 times better that DGHAC). The chorus doesn't reach the climax it needs to be a great dance hit. Not complaining though.
Second, I always said that Paul was brilliant, and here's the proof. Excellent. I do enjoy the guitar on this one too... and in my opinion, excess on strings. The sound very good, but too many (over-produced is the word of the month?)
The middle part, reminded me to some of the recent songs of Madonna, I liked it.
The end... oh well... somebody said that Matt has the keyboards set in default  , it worked perfect on 'Electric Mistress', but the trick here doesn't work. Sorry. And everyone talks about Toby... people, don't forget that Toby was part of the album that most people doesn't like, AFO. Which had perfect tunes, also.
OK, what else to add... mmm... its clear who liked the song and who doesn't, we don't need to repeat this 400 times.
BUT we need to listen the ENTIRE track, and in a decent stereo, and how it fits in the Greatest Hits album, and where Sony put their noses, and how much did it take to make the song, etc etc.
To sum up, I liked the song, well done.

That explains it.This isnt even the final cut is it?Is the song longer than 3 minutes and a half?Is the sound better? |

Well.. this is a radio edit for sure... and remember the mess they did with 'DGHAC', half of the song was edited. So I think the song should be at least 1 minute longer. And by quality, I mean that we are listening this from the radio, is very different when you have the original album at home.

Well, After my first listen I think its a very typical funk song. Which is sad because Jami was the breath of fresh air from typical funk songs that tend to over use the same ideas. I do like the chorus though and Paul absolutely kills this one. Great job on the old 4 stringer Paul. However, everything else is very mediocre at best and I feel its definetly Sony's doing. Everything that Corporate touches gets melted down so your average idiot can "understand" it. Can't wait for them to go independent. Also, Where are the HORNS! Promise after promise and I'm still waiting! I feel sorry for the drums being mechinized, but at least theres some on the track! I think they also use a drum machine so that it kicks a little harder for the clubs/parties or whatever.
Anyways, it all boils down to this: typical funk. Thanks for listening all and if someone has a clip of the remix could you please PM because I'd love to hear it. Death to Sony. |

I give credit for Jamiroquai still putting out funk. Essentially, this kinda stuff died back in the early 80s (and for me in the late 1970s). Thank God for Jay and co. to keep these kinds of vibes and basslines alive.
All things being said, I feel like Toby is sorely missed. Keys are virtually non-existant on this cut...it could use those remix keys. God I wish I could take the horns and keys from that and place them in this studio cut. |

I think that the song is a mix between the AFO and Dynamite songs with perhaps a bit of the Synkronized in it. Its good but I don't think that its as good as some of the singles from those CDs. Just a bit weaker.
Its also lacks that 'boppyness' that songs like Love Foolosphy has. Its not a bad song tho. 
Wonder what radio will be like? Infact I wonder how much the songs will chnage after GH.

I like it... after about ten listens it is growing on me, but in the same way that any catchy pop tune on the radio does. I'm afraid it's not the "smooth disco funk" I was hoping for. I'm looking forward to seeing the video, and hearing it live.
I really hate to say this, but it's Jamirolight...
Edit: After a whole lot more listens I am liking it more and more. I can hear more in it with each listen (Paul's bass is just brilliant!) and it is really sticking in my head.
