I don't believe for one moment that Jay resorts to this type of behaviour to gain publicity. He just seems to be a very angry man at times and his anger comes out in different forms (something he must learn to deal with if he is to remain in the public eye).
I can't imagine how irritating it must be to have cameras in your face all the time, people bugging you and just never leaving you alone - difficult and bl**dy annoying, but Jay MUST learn to deal with that in a more constructive way - either by walking away, or just laughing it off.
At the start of the footage, you can hear him protecting his mother and quite rightly so. If anyone did the same to my family, God help them.....
I admire Jay for protecting those he loves, I just hope that he ends his anger which he seems to carry around with him quite a lot - that is quite frightening. _________________ Jamiroquai - it's stitched into the clothes that I wear... |

the problem is the information.
people who don't know jamiroquai only heard about it (or better said him, for people who don't know) , jay drunk, stoned and fighting.
(you can see in how many places and countryes this it's been the only new about jamiroquai in years (or even the first!)
and of course jay didn't do this on purpose of having any publicity _________________

In the first video posted you can actually see what started the fight.Watch it or see it again to see what it was. |

I totally agree with you, it wasn't publicity, Jay was just completely drunk as a skunk and stoned and he lost control

cameras in your face all the time?? how often do you actually see pictures of jay in papers or mags? do you think there is a convoy of photographers following him around 24/7? let's be realistic here

when you see the whole clip you realise that it makes no sense at all. no one there had even said anything to him! Sadly it was just the incoherent ramblings of a man too intoxicated to have any idea what he was saying. what have the press ever done to his mother? was she there with him that night? I'm sure if she was she'd have given him the bloody good slap that he's obviously in need of! |

andrew that could be true
but there are things i think that we don't really see.or know only him and the photographers know of...we have a very limited perspective ,We can only go by our opionons , the tabliod pics and some camera dude who caught it just when thing were heating up...but i could be wrong |

I obviously wasnt clear....I didnt mean that JAY has cameras in HIS face all the time...I meant celebrities in general...at whatever level, they must be able to deal with the publicity.
Secondly, I have seen the whole clip....have you? We don't know why he started being abusive at the start of the clip, we didn't see what happened before. It could have been solely the state he was in; it could have been retaliation to a nasty comment.
I will reiterate what I wrote before: "at the start of the footage, you can hear him protecting his mother..." and am sure that she would be proud to have a son who sticks up for her and cares about her, even when he is in such a state. A slap could come in handy only if really necessary If you watch the clip, you can hear heckles and people just winding Jay up with all sorts of irritating comments....I wouldn't be surprised if someone WAS rude about his mother, or perhaps just mentioned her name which wound him up.
If you have only one parent, you will understand how protective you can get about them - alcohol or no alcohol...
No-one knows what happened that night except the people who were there. Am not sticking up for Jay btw, I think he was not very clever to get into that state in the first place - because of his temper and his unability to deal with these types of situations, he is an easy target for the media, gets wound up, drinks some more and again, the circle continues....
Thank you for your opinion though _________________ Jamiroquai - it's stitched into the clothes that I wear... |

You've probably seen the 2 minute clip that's on YouTube, right? I'm talking about the whole 20 minute sequence, which i've been lucky enough to have a look at. If you saw that you'd understand how ridiculous Jay's comments about his mother are, cos no one there had said anything to provoke him. As i posted earlier, the heckles only come as Jay is being bundled into the car, after the photographers, security and anyone unfortunate enough to be passing by has endured 10 minutes of Jay shouting abuse and threatening to shoot everyone. Sorry, but this time he has no excuses |

Look guys, I adore Jay and the boys, but honestly its so obvious that he just TOTALLY got out of control, whether or not photographers where there, that's part of the business and something that they just have to learn how to handle. For example, you can be in a job where you don't like you're boss, well you've just got to learn to be civil and get along - it's something you don't like, but it's part of your job!
Even with the 3min video, you can see that there were only 2 flashes that went off while Jay was talking, and they only went ballistic when Jay started fighting - if he just said his stuff and left there wouldn't have even been a photograph printed in the papers, but because he got out of control, he actually caused the fiasco himself.
Like I said, I adore Jay and I'm the first one to be there and get all protective of him, but we also have to accept that he does have a bit of an aggression problem (he's been like that from the start) - all you have to do is read interviews where journalists say he hates the tabloids - but then his opinionated personality is what a lot of us are drawn too - he's never boring, he's intelligent with lots of ideas and concerns in the world, but we need to accept that he can and will be a naughty boy at times.
I can actually imagine Jay sitting at home reading all these posts thinking to himself 'who the hell do these people think they are - they don't know me' - no we don't know him but we'll still love JMQ's music no matter what he does in his personal life

Andy - I have not seen the whole 20 min clip, i didn't know it existed. As for the comments about his mother, I am only giving you my point of view with the amount of footage that I saw.
Thanks!

I'm pretty happy i don't have to see the 20 minutes one!! the 3 minutes was enaught
I don't have a particolar opinion over all the situation, it's right that he HAS to learn how to deal with this situations and to deal with his own anger... but to me as first thing he should learn how to stay without a dependency ( now's alcool!!), I mean it's a pain to see someone you like and misterously care about to be that way, paparazzi or not paparazzi!!
to end it: to my eyes Jay's much more clever than that!!
